we are excited to be working in coalition with @bxprogressives , @BronxSunrise , @ccsunlight and other organizers to get you to run for County Committee where you live!
the meeting ended abruptly at 7:30, no indication if it was technical issues but there wasn't really anything left on the agenda. also there was no mic or chat option for participants.
so this meeting was virtual and a bit janky!
they tabled the reports because "no committees had met" and then there were some speeches.
unfinished business was raised and our co-founder @BeltzerNYC was given the floor.
the below is now officially headed to rules committee.
Tonight is the first full annual @BronxDems County Committee meeting that isn't an organizational or to vote on the rules!
This is because of our efforts in 2018 that made sure we meet every year!
Now let's see if we can get some business done at this meeting + not just a show!

We have some unfinished business, mainly to get Assembly District Committees (for CC members to meet at Assembly level) and to split Assembly Districts into parts.
Let's see how it goes!
New Yorkers, listen up!
Please call your Assembly member to co-sponsor A7933. This bill will allow non-binary folks to be able to run for party office. #ReformNY
This is huge! Find your rep and call them here: https://t.co/0yHrRDxqdr
we condemn what's happening in Brooklyn and it is why we need open and transparent people involved in party positions. this shows why we need to only get more people elected in 2022!
Last night's meeting of Brooklyn Dems leaders was a disaster. They voted in secret to restrict members' participation in the party, and verbally abused & threatened leaders who didn't go along. This is not the leadership Brooklyn needs. Our statement: https://t.co/PSx8hCfIXQ
Today is Election Day and our municipal elections are here! Make sure you also flip over your ballot to vote on the 5 ballot proposals! find your pollsite at https://t.co/vwzNsrt37k polls open until 9pm!
We are very saddened at the passing of Ruth Mullen. Ruth ran for County Committee with us in 2018 and had such a great attitude and can do spirit. The Northwest Bronx has lost a great one. Rest in Power Ruth!

By naming @NYSenBenjamin to LT Governor this will create an opening in the @NYSenate. However a recently passed law will mandate Governor Kathy Hochul set a special election for this seat. 1/6

This appointment should trigger a special election for his Senate seat, which means, you guessed it, #CountyCommittee comes into play!
Quorum on these votes for the Democratic nominee in a special election is as little as a few dozen people, so yes you can directly affect govt.
All about the Benjamins about to be played on a statewide level! As we reimagine New York, we continue to move forward with the best. Huge congrats to my brother @NYSenBenjamin and his wonderful family on this well-deserved appointment as our new Lieutenant Governor! #HarlemWorld
