The conversation about “skilled labor shortages” is missing a critical fact: The Building Trades already train and deploy the workforce building America’s infrastructure, manufacturing facilities, power generation, and data centers. The issue is not a lack of workers. It’s a failure by some owners, developers, and national contractor groups to commit to early workforce planning and long-term investment—the same commitment the Building Trades and signatory contractor partners have made for decades. A major winter storm could impact over half the nation. Huge thanks to our linemen ready to work through ice and freezing temperatures to keep the lights on and homes warm. 👷♂️⚡❄️
From day one, delivering for working families and organized labor has been my north star. That will never change.
I am incredibly proud to be backed by the men and women of @LocalUnion3IBEW who keep our city running.
Welcome to the year 2026!
Local 3, IBEW Sign Division members working for union signatory contractor AMA Electric Sign Co. installed and operated the new Constellation Ball and 2-0-2-6 Numerals for the world-famous New Year's Eve Ball Drop Celebration in Times Square.
Local Union No. 3, IBEW is once again disappointed with the Trump administration’s attack on offshore wind and the unionized Building Trades workforce that has been successfully constructing projects up and down the East Coast.
The impacts of its decision hurt International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers members, other Building Trades workers, and the residents and businesses of New York who are counting on clean energy to be added to the grid to help power our neighborhoods.
Learning Together: Train the Trainer at @LocalUnion3IBEW
America needs about 81,000 new electricians every year. The real gap? Electricians who can safely plan and maintain energy storage and microgrid systems. That workforce barely exists.
Data centers, resiliency, batteries: the projects are stacking up. The workers need to be ready. That's why we built ESAMTAC.
Last week, our EVP and Co-Founder, Andy Mackey, led a Train the Trainer course at @LocalUnion3IBEW, working alongside representatives from @AETCO, @CPSTechnology, @HealyElectric, @CNYEnergyTraining, @IBEWLocal237, and more. This course gave us the chance to share knowledge, learn from one another, and explore new training methods, including hands-on VR technology.
Thank you to everyone who participated, and thank you to @LocalUnion3IBEW for having us. Their commitment to advancing workforce development in the electrical trade continues to set the standard for our industry.
Want to become an ESAMTAC training provider or need custom training solutions? LMS, VR, labs, TtT, virtual or in-person. We meet you where you are.

This bipartisan bill deserves a YES vote.

This year marks the 125th anniversary for IBEW Local Union No. 3 & it was an honor to celebrate their tremendous legacy. For generations, this union has protected workers, advanced safety standards, and created pathways to success through education and training. Their commitment to the well-being of their members has shaped the electrical industry and has lit a spark in the lives of so many families across New York including District 27's very own Electchester. Presenting a legislative resolution, the highest level of recognition by New York State, acknowledges their significant, century-long contributions. Congratulations to Local Union No. 3 on 125 years of distinguished service, advocacy, and leadership. Your work continues to illuminate the future of New York.
I was honored to stand with Local 3 Queens today — the men and women who built the greatest city in the world. Together, we will rebuild it stronger: safe streets, affordable housing, good jobs, and a city that works for working people.
