Blackjack St. from U.S. 183 to Commerce St. has been closed to traffic due to a rollover incident involving an 18-wheeler.

After further investigation at the Lockhart Walmart this afternoon, Lockhart Police investigators have found the item in question was misidentified as a firearm and is no danger to the public.

The store has reopened and resumed normal operations.

Beginning next wk, TxDOT will install truck re-route signs along U.S. 183 & SH 130. To allow truck drivers to become familiar w/the new signage & adjust, @LockhartPolice will implement a 2 wk grace period.

🚨We’ve received reports of NB drivers using the SB turn lane to turn into H-E-B. PLEASE DON’T DO THIS! Not only is it illegal, it is also dangerous! 🚨

Due to traffic safety concerns on the SB turn lane on U.S. 183 & Hickory St. by H-E-B, @LockhartPolice will increase traffic enforcement in the area. The turn lane is only meant for SB drivers to use when turning east onto Hickory St.

This morning, the Lockhart Victim Assistance team set up the Tree of Angels at Lockhart City Hall. Two other Christmas Angel Trees are being set up at Luling City Hall and the Caldwell County Justice Center.

On Wed., construction crews will be installing a turn lane into the Lockhart Farms Apts along W. San Antonio St./SH 142, from Borchert Dr. to City Line Rd. Lanes will be shifted from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
