portland and seattle local politics is highly influenced by the DSA, mayors don't run the towns with an iron fist it's an issue across a wide variety of local government positions. there's finally been push back as of late (keith wilson is a start) but it's an uphill battle against the DSA led city council who think taxpayers and small businesses are to blame for crackheads roaming the streets 24/7.

katie wilson is already trying to drive away businesses that are a huge net positive on the local economy. we'll see where this ends up in a few years if she continues her reign.
