@theavfcfaithful I considered the Lindelof signing to be the most underwhelming ever, but he turned out to be like prime Claude Makelele by the end of the season…….maybe he will be the same??
@avfc_stef You can go back further and add Philogene, Diaby, Onana (£50m cheerleader), Maatsen (unconvincing at £35m). It’s early days for Tammy, but he seemed to be willing to play Malen more. It’s all gone a bit strange, and the big fear fans have is who goes if we don’t make Cham League
@danbardell Remember my old man taking me there, late 80s maybe? Had a live cowboy show which was awesome, wish I was still there instead of watching Villa vs Wolves!!!!!!
@avfc_stef Must admit, as frustrating as it is Villa don’t have open cheque book like City and Arsenal, they are always the most creative club during transfer windows, very impressive to see how they work. Emery is so classy too, rarely moans like Pep, just focuses on what he has. UTV
@Trentvilla1 It’s always a worry, but at the same time I think he strives on the underdog mentality, he was clearly annoyed yesterday, but I think he would have loved the last 3 months, and the fact he has masterminded us into 3rd place against all odds - I think he appreciates what he has…
@TotalVilla_ Do you not suspect it is the only way we can meet his wage demands due to SCR? Ideally we would probably only offer a 2.5 year deal, but would have to up his wages significantly. Player is OK with it I would think as he won’t command a big wage at 30, so happy to be paid until 32
@JacobsBen@alex_crook Another one on the average pile, enjoy 5.5 years of dull obscurity, promising so much, but delivering so little, under about 4 different managers
@VillaViews_ Yeah, all gotta be to do with the commercials you would think, as he is a proven good player, and is on relatively low wages I think, maybe we negotiate Liverpool down on the fee in January or send him back
@BBCSport The fact is Masters and his buddies at Sky talk about ‘the product’ and desperately try to build narratives around ‘the product’, but let’s face it, it is not as exciting as it was and importantly fans are seeing through the facade, it’s just not as enjoyable, and they know it
@BBCSport So, they have allowed the cartel to spend without risk of repercussion this summer, and just after they have invested about a billion pounds into their squads, they now decide to change the rules, just after letting the cartel get a little further ahead than they were…corrupt
@Total_Villa I get that, but looking at Monchi’s main role, I.e. recruitment, it was really poor, very few successful incomings, and many overpriced with the framework we need to operate in - agree though, interesting to see what this does to the structure and Emery’s overall influence
@JUSTIN_AVFC_ The negative noises coming from the players is doing nothing but creating a rift with fans, they need to be careful the vibe they are giving off. Not sure there is one of them I care much for currently, burning the positive bridges that have been built over the last 3 years
@OliverKay Not sure you can include Newcastle anymore than Villa, both have huge backing that cannot be unlocked. If Newcastle don’t get Champions League this year, and I don’t think a 20 year old German kid guarantees that, they will likely have to sell next summer…the Big 6 won’t
@OliverKay Big 6 clubs really have little risk with recruitment, let the other 14 identify the players, acclimatise them, develop them, then bully them into selling. Premier league like us to think it’s the most competitive league out there, it really isn’t - the bubble is bursting
@theavfcfaithful When you lay it out like that, looks pretty good!! Emery has referred to youth players a few times too, hopefully they might be able to provide a bit of width, as the wide players you have listed all like to move inside…..
@henrywinter I’m sure a lot of clubs could have the greatest transfer window ever if they were allowed to spend £400m………..great impartiality there, just continue to spend all your time talking about the Sky 6, it’s becoming increasingly boring
