Iwo Baraniewski

A newer LHW fighter, with dynamite in his hands. If you’ve seen his recent fights, you would assume he’s a pure kickboxer, but you’re wrong. He’s also a Judoka who has won gold multiple times.

He’s fighting Justin Tafa this weekend. A kickboxing knock out artist. Tafa’s kryptonite has always been his TDD and leg kicks.

On paper, Iwo Baraniewski sounds like a nightmare for Tafa. Being a Judoka with KO power. That’s how I felt until I started studying tape and stumbled upon this old fight in his amateur career.

You see in this video Iwo even gets the takedown, but somehow screws it up by getting TKO’d while being ON TOP of his opponent! Now I know he has gotten better and went on a nasty streak after this but it does leave room for worry. Might be free money betting on Iwo but it’lll probably be stressful free money 🥲 #UFC #UFCVegas118
