@benonwine I would never condone violence but I can understand why it happened. Everyone has their breaking point when it comes to patience. Yes the driver was wrong but he was definitely provoked which makes the protester also wrong. The protester should have foreseen this might happen.

Ten years should be a sufficient prison sentence to deter others from doing this.

@AttentiveCEE The driver will probably get a visit from the police for driving into the protester. If so he should insist on a court with a jury as no-one would find him guilty. If someone throws themselves in front of a truck then they are the only ones to blame if they are injured.

@MarieAnnUK @theJeremyVine Clearly both could have been more aware of each other but the cyclist was travelling at speed along the road and as the vehicle using the road I believe the law/highway code will place the blame on the cyclist and not the pedestrian.
