Thank you for your time today @ShaunDaviesMP and your support in our campaign to ensure everyone who needs an NHS dentist is able to see one.
With oral disease having huge knock-on effects on overall health, dental care is a crucial part of our healthcare. @TheBDA
Delighted to meet @SamJRushworth MP in Parliament.
We couldn’t agree more about the need for investment and more urgency in tackling the dental access crisis.
With 14m people in England unable to access an NHS dentist, this issue can’t be kicked into the long grass. @TheBDA
Good to meet @jamesowild MP to discuss how to fix NHS dentistry.
More training places a welcome step, but to ensure extra dentists see their futures in the NHS after graduation,Government must fundamentally reform the 2006 dental contract. @theBDA
Nice to speak to @CharlotteCane8 MP today.
Thank you for your support as we call for sustainable funding NHS dentistry, and urgent reform of the dysfunctional contract driving the ongoing access crisis. @theBDA
Thankyou for raising key questions @alisgriffithsmp
This Government has made the right promises, but deeds need to match words.
NHS dentistry has not bounced back.
The 'recovery' cited here is lightyears from where other NHS services are.
We need urgency & ambition.
This is why we’re worried that there’s now a material risk govt promises to save NHS dentistry won’t be kept.
We have instability across the top of govt.
And if deadlines slip many already struggling practices will simply walk away. @TheBDA
In April, a public consultation on fundamental reform of NHS dentistry was coming "this summer."
In June, it's downgraded to "in due course."
If NHS dentistry is going to survive we need urgency and ambition here.
We have to disagree @mabonapgwynfor
1/3 of the adult population in Wales are unable to access the NHS dental care they need.
The last govt's untested reforms are pushing struggling practices to the brink.
We want to work with you to turn this around.

FOR MILLIONS OF PEOPLE NHS DENTISTRY HAS SIMPLY CEASED TO EXIST
On Monday 15 June a debate will take place in the House of Commons on the shocking state of NHS Dentistry.
Nearly 14 million adults are now unable to access NHS dentistry in England - FOURTEEN MILLION! Just think about that.
People in agony are pulling out their own teeth - this isn’t just Victorian, IT’S MEDIEVAL.
We cannot allow this shocking and shameful situation to continue.
CONTACT YOUR MP NOW using this handy link provided by @TheBDA and ask them to attend this important debate. Tell them to demand that ministers provide a plan to save NHS dentistry and offer the resources to back it up!
THIS IS NOW MAKE OR BREAK FOR NHS DENTISTRY - if urgent action is not taken by the government NHS Dentistry risks becoming little more than an emergency service.
Vital that we reform the NHS dental service to keep it viable. NOT TWEAK but completely redesign it. I’m sure @Matt_VickersMP and @ChrisMcDonaldMP will attend as I serve patients from both their constituencies.
"If we haven't got urgency, if we haven't got stability within Government, and we haven't got the resources, then I really worry about the NHS dental service for the future."
@EddieCrouch spelling out the facts.
Dentists - do the same with your MP https://t.co/PJBwkpQRjC
Dentistry was a doorstep issue during the recent election in Scotland, and now for the by-election in Makerfield.
Politicians would be unwise to ignore this key issue @TheBDA
"We need more urgency. We need a plan. We need more funding."
@EddieCrouch warns we can't deliver a better service with the same amount of money.
We’ve secured a debate in parliament.
If you’re a dentist, get your MP to show up and speak up.

This isn't so much about the fate of @AndyBurnhamGM but of millions of patients across this country.
This Government has made the right promises.
But warm words need to be met with action.
And pledges need to be underpinned by proper funding.

Excl: Polling suggests big factor in the Makerfield by-election could the dentistry crisis as no practice in the constituency is taking on NHS patients

“Yearlong waiting lists have too often been the norm here, for vulnerable young patients, many struggling to eat, to sleep and to learn," says @EddieCrouch.
“We shouldn’t be forced to play a zero-sum game for theatre space.”

🏜️🦷50 new dental school places won't end 'dental deserts'.
From Portsmouth to Norwich, we've set out to ensure the public know the facts about the latest move from Government.
That requires real reform and sustainable funding.

We can only hope there are gains, but there’s a need for realism.
Graduates from Peninsular haven’t stopped the South West being a dental desert.
If govt really want to keep talent in the NHS it requires a decisive break from a failed contract along with sustainable funding.
“No one in the 21st century should struggle to access basic dental care or, even worse, forced to take matters into their own hands,” says Minister @SKinnock
A worthy sentiment, but this policy alone really can’t deliver that level of change. We need ambition & investment.
