I always learn a lot every time I get a training session from Frank Garza (Luka’s father), and happy Coach Chris Morrow could also join us this time. One of the things we covered (video below) was the “Sikma move”. NBA Hall of Famer Jack Sikma taught the move to Frank, which he used a lot in college. Frank later on taught that move to Luka Garza, and other NBA, college, and high school bigs. It was great having this training session at the Chris Street Memorial Gymnasium in Indianola, IA @frankgarza57@LukaG_55@lukagarzabball@LukaG_Academy@cjmorrow8@jacksikma@SeattleSonics@Dschrempf@celtics@IowaHoops@FHHSVikingHoops
Exciting game to watch! Bosnia went to mostly Nurkic instead of Luka. It was a little frustrating watching Luka open at the top or corners and didn’t get a chance to shoot a 3. Bosnian team was 4/28 14% at 3s that game. As a team they are usually much better at 3s. Hopefully they get Luka involved with the 3s Monday against Lithuania.
Another unforgettable moment at Luka’s basketball camps in Iowa: Boston Celtics Head Coach Joe Mazzulla didn’t just come to support Luka; he showed up for our kids, our families, and our community.
He traveled to Iowa, stepped onto the court, coached, encouraged, listened, and made every young athlete feel seen, heard, and valued.
A heartfelt thank you to @celtics and Coach Mazzulla for doing something so unexpected and so meaningful.
Great leaders do what others wouldn’t think to do. They show up when they don’t have to. They go where they aren’t expected. And they make people feel that they matter.
This is why the Harvard leadership author, Linda A. Hill calls Coach Mazzulla one of the greatest leaders living today. I couldn't agree more.
Thank you, Coach, for giving Iowa and these young student-athletes a day they will never forget. 🏀❤️

I enjoyed another Luka Garza Academy in Iowa this past week! I always learn from listening and watching both Luka and Frank Garza! Great to also meet @celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla! After the camp I got another training session from Frank Garza and see how he trains college and NBA players. It was special having this camp in Indianola and having the camp in honor of Chris Street. My father has taught me for years about how important Chris Street was for college basketball and the @uiowa It was an honor meeting both of Chris Street’s parents (who were both very kind) and also do the training session with Frank Garza and Chris Morrow in the Chris Street Memorial Gymnasium! @LukaG_55@lukagarzabball@LukaG_Academy@frankgarza57@IowaHoops@IowaOnBTN@GazetteOnIowa@cjmorrow8@JarrettGrose@upsideash #forever40 #cms40 #chrisstreet
This was an awesome moment! Garza family love Chris, the Hawkeyes, and the state of Iowa! Thankful to have met Mr and Mrs Street that day! Both very kind people. It was special to also go next door and train in the Chris Street Memorial Gymnasium. I loved the large mural of Chris Street and all the #40s around the gym.
Well said, Loganh. The Street family is very important to us and their love of Iowa and the Hawkeyes is second to none.
Luka and I appreciate your effort to be there after being ill Sunday and putting forth exceptional effort throughout the camp. Way to be a leader.
