Musician and percussionist Shayna Dunkelman working at Loghaven this past summer. When we asked Shayna what has been the most fulfilling part of her experience at Loghaven, she said, "Just being able to focus on music in the setting without any distraction."
Loghaven offers optional weekly site visits in Knoxville for our residents. One of our favorite places to visit is the @TheBeckCenter and Archive Studio. The Beck Cultural Center is a non-profit where “Black history and culture are preserved, nurtured, taught and continued.”
Inspiration is just one of the things we hope artists find at Loghaven. Whether it's from our beautiful natural surroundings or the historic cabins, we hope each view out of the window provides a moment to pause, reflect, and deepen the work.
