Head Coach at @IntFitCoaching
"Don't judge a book by its cover." gets something wrong.
The cover is evidence. That is what it is for.
Acquiring knowledge has costs, so judge the cover and let it guide whether to keep reading. Just don't pretend you read the book if you haven't.

Head Coach @LogicalArthur will be speaking at @ObjStdInstitute's LevelUp 2026 in Chicago.
"Mind-Body Integration: The Physical Side" is about treating physical health and capacity as serious parts of rational self-development.

I launched @IntFitCoaching today! This has been a long time coming: a coaching practice built around fitness as integrated human development, not just macros or workouts. I'm accepting clients, and more articles, FAQs, and video/image content are on the way.
Integrated Fitness Coaching is now live!

IFC helps people build sustainable fitness through an integrated view of the person: body, emotions, thinking, values, relationships, nutrition, physical exercise, and practical systems.
@StopMe24@MyFitnessPal@MFP_Ops As a product manager in tech for the last 15 years who recently worked on another diet app, I wouldn't necessarily turn down a job offer to help @MyFitnessPal with UX and functionality to actually help people achieve their goals, but I'm worried my expertise wouldn't be valued.
Hey, @MyFitnessPal: After you released a buggy update to your Android app that orders foods in meals in inscrutable ways as part of your grand redesign, I tried to go on the web to manually fix the order. Imagine my lack of surprise when confronted with this embarrassing #bug. 🤦
Hey, @duolingo: I've now completed two lessons, and you haven't increased my streak count for today. I thought the first time was a fluke, but you also dinged me two hearts because of a #bug I've already reported where you don't recognize speech correctly. What gives?
Finally caught this @duolingo#bug on video. This nonsense happens all the time, on both Android and on my laptop browser. Trying a handful of times, with near-perfect pronunciation, doesn't help. This has been going on for years.
Hey, @FedEx: Leaning into your incompetence doesn't make for a very funny April Fools joke. "tomorrow" from March 31 is April 1, not April 2. 🤦 #bug
CC @FedExHelp
There's a market opportunity for cost-effective overnight shipping without lying to customers and inconveniencing them the way @FedEx does. @FedExHelp takes zero accountability for their screwups and causing us to scramble to ship breastmilk for a newborn. https://t.co/zxhjaw3Wko
.@duolingo You sent me this email before 3am, and you're trying to shame me for procrastinating because I haven't done a lesson within 3 hours of the start of the day while I'm sleeping?
I think you can do better. #bug
@_shugyosha@cbssaturday@Brook@HBinswanger As for high IQ being correlated with dying earlier, I think all the evidence points in the opposite direction for now, but if we were to find such a mysterious correlation, it would be critical to uncover the true causality, so we can mitigate it. High IQ confers MANY benefits!
@_shugyosha@cbssaturday@Brook@HBinswanger Yes, with any technology, we will need to be careful and ever-vigilant about its uses and long-term effects. The pattern of all new developments it that they're only initially affordable to the few rich, but then, like cell phones, cars, TVs, and computers, become ubiquitous.
@drago9671 But anyway, I was talking about YOU and your consistency with your professed beliefs.
Anyway, I'm not sure this will go anywhere else productive, so take care!
@drago9671 And where do you think he'd live 2000 years ago--and for how long?
Today's "slums" and government housing may not be glamorous by your and my standards, but don't romanticize how difficult life was 2000 years ago or in today's 3rd world, with more "wealth equality".
@drago9671 I think, if you introspect carefully, you'll find you've made my point for me. 😉
I do wish you all the best, though--all the success and prosperity and greatness that you can create for yourself, and I hope you get value from being around greatness, too.
@_shugyosha@cbssaturday@Brook@HBinswanger Ah, but is that a reflection of basic human nature or the passive acceptance of (corrupt) prevalent philosophical ideas in a culture? And even if it reflects some biological bias, wouldn't it still be desirable to use our minds to overcome that to achieve greater prosperity?
@drago9671 Forgive me for putting it so sharply, but your profile suggests you live in the US. If you take your own philosophical commitments (and psychological musings) seriously, why are you living here with access to Twitter and the internet, rather than moving to a 3rd-world county?
@drago9671 To be clear, though, I *do* compare myself to others, but not in service of my fundamental worth or happiness: I look at others to learn what is possible (or what to avoid). It's a matter of inspiration and education, not envy.
Introspection requires understanding one's motives.
