@Hybridathlete I always suprised how tilted people get by these. Is it slightly arbitrary, sure. Making up and hitting arbitrary goals is half the fun of training.
I think Cathies performance is definitely over hated in twitter world. If you were equal weighted into the 4 funds that she started with circa 2015 you actually slightly out perform S&P. Although the sequencing of returns was a journey to say the least. Lots of worse offenders in the active field. Cathie probably has a better understanding of tech trends than a lot of the value guys that scoff at her. Although I think many of the financial models she tweeted were insane and she deserved all the criticism she got for those. I could forgive Einhorn for blowing up billions in capital but hiring Fishback is a tough one to come back from lol.
"88.9% improvement in free throw percentage" I must have missed the point in Andre Iguodala's career where he improved his free throw percentage by so much that he was shooting over 100% from the line. She says 8.89% in the clip but also claims Iguodala increased his 3pt % by 2 folds. Which is nearly as implausible. Would have meant Iggy was shooting >30% from 3 which he was never remotely close to.
@BarbourBurner Going to a range USA will give you a good idea of the average Americans firearm proficiency. You will regularly see groupings as bad or worse as the one above, from 10 yards with a long gun.
@Hybridathlete Maybe this is another Sam Krapf. But from what I can find online, he seems to be 6'4" and over 230 pounds. If he had the same amount of relative mass but was instead around the average height of 5'10", he would likely barely have a 500-pound DL.
I think its mostly rage bait and he shouldn't be engaged with. If you wanna claim 500 isn't a heavy deadlift and sell coaching services you better have a deadlift well in excess of 600 pounds. In the link below you can see him struggling with 500 for 3. Maybe he could do 500 for 5 on a max effort set. By any reasonable definition thats still a heavy weight for him. Especially considering he looks to be above 200 pounds BW.

@MattWalshBlog Hot take. Any athletic achievement done in a niche sport is almost surely not one of the most athletic accomplishments of all time. I'm not huge into climbing, but my understanding is this isn't even the most impressive thing Alex has done.
Being hypercritical here, but I would also gently push back on calling a negligent discharge a "freak accidental discharge". They unfortunately happen too often for me to consider them a freak accident (Had one in my local courthouse last year) and are almost always the fault of some combination of lack of training, lack of focus, or an inability to function well in a chaotic environment.
Trying to see if your assumptions are the same as mine. It looks to me like at least the first three shots are from the same officer in the green? Are you thinking he was confused by his own accidental discharge into firing more shots? Not saying it's impossible, but it would seem to me to be extreme incompetence if true.
In late December of 2015, Candace Owens was spending her time writing blog posts about one-night stands and how it's ethically permissible for her to hook up with her friend's ex-boyfriend's. I don't find this super relevant, but if we're gonna dig up Ben's old tweets, I'm gonna dig up Candace's old garbage. This is complete conjecture, but I'm not convinced Candace has ever been principally conservative. Shes had several ideological pivots throughout her ten years on the internet.

I agree on the nation of ideas as being the best guiding principle. I think its one of those ideas that was repeated frequently because it was true. Because of how frequently it was repeated it eventually became a corny idea. Corny ideas are often in vogue for critism by people who are more juvenile and contrarian in nature. The older I get, the more I realize the annoying and corny things my parents (and other succesful adults) constantly told me are actually just deep truths.
Sort of a tangent but how many Americans do you think even have an accurate understanding of their heritage outside of say the last 100 or so years? I only know because I was lucky enough to have relatively educated Grandparents who took a deep interest in genealogy. In grade school I had a few class mates that were convinced they were descendants of George Washington lol. By direct line its impossible and even indirectly given where I grew up its very unlikely.
Maybe I'm being too autistic but I'm not even sure what qualifies as heritage American. Do I count? I can through one branch of my family tree argue I have deep historical ties to the US. But through my Moms family tree I'm technically a first generation born American as she immigrated from Canada.
Maybe I am under estimating how homogenous certain culture are. But by a few generations don't most family trees have atleast some connection that dates far back in American history? Most of my family came here early 1900's. But I have lineage through one great grandparent that dates well before the civil war.
@paulcerro@nikitabier I think for some, it may be worth it to drive traffic to their profile. I wonder with the Twitter creator pay-out system being such a black box, if people even realize when a post is demonitized.
@AlecMacGillis Energy prices are up 32% for this period. Average overdue bill up 31.5%. This seems to reflect more so increased energy costs than it does weakening consumer?
