@oyorooms@riteshagar OYO is lowering its service standards each passing day. With the booking ID Y7262800, the property says that they can't accept booking as it is under construction. Yet OYO happily accepted it and received payment also.

There are few plants as useful as #bamboo. Native to #India, it has been with us since time immemorial. A few lucky ones might have even tasted #yummy bamboo shoots curry. But today I want to share a few beautiful crafted items which blend the #heritage and #modernity perfectly.
One of the most underrated #heritage#art is #Aipan which is practiced in the #Kumaon region of #Uttarakhand. It is a ritualistic art which moved from walls to all kind of utility items such as cushion covers, dupatta, plate as well as invitation cards.

The Kondapalli toys are made from soft wood known as Tella Poniki, found in Kondapalli Hills. Each part is carved out separately. Then makku- a paste of tamarind seed powder & sawdust is used to join pieces together, add details and finish the toys.
One example wherein we have made #Pattachitra based scrolls relevant.
Traditionally these are used for depicting mythological stories through chronological frames and are hung top-down. However, we made modification to make these left-right (horizontal) and stories of patrons.
In our repertoire along with other #heritage crafts, we also have diaries with #handmade paper as well as beautiful handmade covers in #kantha embroidery as well as #blockpainting.
Its not that #Warli is the only #heritage art which transformed into #craft. There are many other contenders like #Madhubani.Traditionally only known for paintings, it has moved further and has gone onto #papermache items as well as other more traditional materials.

Though at the moment #Manipur is in news for not so favorable reasons, however, that doesn't take away the fact that its a beautiful state with illustrious #culture and #heritage#crafts.

#Warli is one of our #heritage art forms. However, it has transformed itself from #art to #craft in form of Warli painted daily utility products such as umbrella and bottles.
One #enviorment friendly craft is horn and bone craft which uses horn and bones of dead animals to make these beautiful artefacts. This is native craft of #UttarPradesh and is one of the major export item.
#Craftwomanship is of the highest order. A great piece of #heritage.
