From over 360,000 applications nationwide, 774 outstanding young Nigerians were meritoriously selected, and their collective impact has been remarkable across the 774 Local Government Areas @AlgonNationalHQ in Nigeria.
Applications for the second cohort of the National Health Fellowship Program will open on 1 November 2025 and close on 30 November 2025. I call on all passionate young Nigerians across various disciplines to take this opportunity.

🚀The National Health Fellows program is redefining leadership in health reform.
This merit-based initiative empowers young Nigerians—from science, engineering, health, social sciences & humanities—to serve in their home communities.
In just 6 months, they’re driving real change!
This week, we spotlight Salisu Yusuf Salisu in Maiduguri, applying his knowledge of social & health infrastructure to tackle challenges in his community.

🚀 A New Era for Health Leadership in Nigeria! 🇬
Last week, Nigeria took a bold step forward with the launch of the @healthfellowsng program under the leadership of @officialABAT President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
At the heart of this initiative is the Coordinating Minister of Health, @muhammadpate, whose inspiring speech led to a presidential pronouncement, marking a defining moment for health leadership and equity in Nigeria.
This fellowship embodies Nigeria’s commitment to a future driven by excellence, inclusion, and innovation—empowering a new generation of young leaders from across all 774 Local Government Areas to transform healthcare in their communities.
Dignitaries including CME Wale Edun, HM @ayowisdom_, HM @hm_womenaffairs, Dr. @MuntaqaSadiq, Dr. @Muyi_Aina, and HRH the @Lord_Of_Warri graced the occasion, underscoring the importance of this milestone.
This is more than a program—it’s a movement for change. Congratulations to the pioneering cohort of fellows! The future of healthcare in Nigeria is bright.
