Did you try touching her chin to your breast first? Like anchor your boob there and when he opens wide, rotate him head down onto the top of the boob. My baby usually opened his mouth wider with this when he was a newborn. Now at six months we still surgery with a shallow latch 25-40 of the time but sometimes it doesn't hurt anymore.
