As part of our annual tree plantation project, 60 sapplings have been planted yeterday at Ryewood Park in this phase. Another phase would take place in 2 weeks. Thanks to all the donors and supporters who made this happen. Also thanks to @Kanaiinfra for providing the sapplings . #Treetime #lonavala #khandala #Treeplantation

A Landmark Victory for Lonavala Khandala Citizens Forum (LKCF)
After 18 years of persistent advocacy against unplanned and unauthorized development, LKCF’s long-standing efforts have finally borne fruit.
Background
This journey began with the late Mr. K.K. Singhvi—then a senior counsel at the Bombay High Court and a proud resident of Lonavala—who ideated the Public Interest Litigation to resolve the issues of Lonavla-Khandala’s civic decline. Deeply concerned about the rampant, illegal development disrupting the region, he and a dedicated group of civic-minded residents who had formed the LKCF 21 years ago, went ahead to file the said Public Interest Litigation No. 93 of 2007 on the Appellate side of the Bombay High Court for Lonavala- Khandala’s ’s well-being.
Acknowledgement and Gratitude
We fondly remember and sincerely thank the visionary founder, late Mr. K.K. Singhvi, and the committed members who stood strong through the years: Shyamala Sanyal, Tanuja Mukerjee, Jaideep Samarth, Colonel Sajal Sinha and Meenakshi Sinha, Rashida and Manek Shroff, Mangala and Vijay Shah, Kaustubh and Parmeshwari Damle, Irene St. Anne, Fergus Misqitta , Vaishali Gadgil, Subodh Tiwari and Tanu Mehta and countless others who made this victory possible.
As part of the Good Citizens Program, students from Kaivalyavidya Niketan school and LKCF members visited Lonavala’s Solid Waste Processing Plant, gaining valuable insights into waste management and the importance of segregation.
