As the seasons change and the temperature dips, we can warm ourselves on the memories of our recent Harvest Festival. Children made the soup from vegetables from our allotment and from home, and together with parents, we celebrated autumn (in the warm sunshine!).

Congratulations to our Year 5 poets who have had their poems chosen to be published in the Young Writers' 2023 Poetry Anthology! It was lovely to award them their certificates in assembly this morning and celebrate their work. Well done.

It's our Harvest Festival today and we are thrilled to welcome our parent community to celebrate. Our Kindergarten and Willow Class went to our allotment last week to harvest the corn and pumpkins that they planted in the spring; it was wonderful to see the joy on their faces.

Willow Class (Year 2) are learning about classification of animals in Science this term, which meant we were out of our seats and moving around the classroom to put each animal in its correct group. Shouts of 'it's not a reptile, it's a mammal' could be heard along the corridor!

What a colourful, lively time is had by all in our Kindergarten! From dressing up to bread-making, from counting to weaving, everyday is a fun day at The London Acorn School.

Our oldest Kindergarten pupils started woodwork for the very first time last week and we are so impressed with their attention to detail, focus and stamina. We can't wait to see their first creations: woodwork hedgehogs!
