Dreaming of libraries, hoping for bookshops. The London Bookshop Map promotes independent bookshops and distributes new work by artists, writers and poets.
Chilling to hear reports that books affirming trans identities have been removed from the new @young_vam bookshop by @TristramHuntVA … I had planned to visit on Sat but instead will be ordering this book from @gaystheword! Solidarity & ❤️to all opposing this in the museum
A few people have asked where they can get "Here and Queer" 💙
It should be available at most book stores - but I'd recommend buying from a queer indie bookshop like @gaystheword
You can shop with them online here: https://t.co/LnS0YhS2zq
Love @TheCommonPress bookshop in Bethnal Green and love to see our @ontherecordcic Childcare Histories map flyers here! Check both out! https://t.co/gZowjkC7VH
Tate, Cut Your Ties With Genocidal Israel
Ahead of this year’s Turner Prize awards ceremony on Tuesday, more than 1200+ artists call on Tate’s leadership to cut ties with organisations that are deeply complicit with the Israeli state.

with the disgusting actions of #waterstones I thought I’d share my fave local LGBTQIA+ bookshop in Manchester! @QueerLitUK 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Support independent bookstores and most importantly TRANS RIGHTS ❤️
Just left some Public Early Years leaflets at the amazing @HousmansBooks in Kings Cross after a great meet up with some of the Hackney Flashers and @growyourown_ohp who are based upstairs thru Oral History project @ontherecordcic ❤️🚩 ❤️ @VersoBooks

The complicit investments in Israel by @QMUL are reported by @PSCupdates to be £1,117,069. Trashing freedom of trade union activity in the name of freedom of speech is a naked attempt to justify financial complicity with genocide.
Solidarity with @qm_ucu
Totally egregious. Union offices contain sensitive protected data on their membership which employers are legally prevented from accessing or viewing. They cannot break in because they don't like the decor. Shame on @QMUL
After the destruction of two publishing houses in the West Bank last week, now this - the publishing house and library Al-Kalima in Gaza burnt to ashes. Solidarity with Palestinian publishers and writers #CeasefireNOW
Today (Tuesday 20th February) management ordered @QMUL security to break into the Queen Mary UCU office behind the Queens Building in order to remove posters expressing solidarity with Palestine.
My only response to this is:
In order for me to write poetry that isn't political, I must listen to the birds
and in order to hear the birds
the warplanes must be silent

Journalist Mohammad Al-Jaja has just been murdered, with family, by Israeli missiles destroying their home in Gaza City.
The local journalists are paying with their lives to bring us the truth of the war crimes of Gaza.
In their memory keep campaigning for peace.
New experimental art writing!: Velazquez as (really very) early supporter of the suffragettes… radically sex positive and concerned with displaying and celebrating all forms of care work (note the baby in fancy dress)
Vandalism plain & simple.
How dare these criminals storm our National Gallery & use hammers to smash a painting depicting the Suffragette movement pretending to be raising concerns about the environment - call them out for what they are - vandals & hooligans.

visited amazing Lighthouse Bookshop in the darkness this evening @Lighthousebks#CeasefireForGaza
Book Works Publishing join the global strike for Palestine, Friday, 20 Oct. Together with artists and other organisations, we will be closed and use this time to learn and reflect together in order to work for a better future for everyone. We encourage you to join in solidarity.
Authors Ta-Nehisi Coates, China Mieville, Kamila Shamsie, Eileen Myles, Richard Ford and many, many others call for the international community to commit to ending the catastrophe unfolding in Gaza and a just political solution in Palestine ✊🏾
