Want to sound more natural in British English? 🇬🇧
Most non-natives make these tiny mistakes every day.
Here are 7 common ones:
1. “I’m going to store” → We say “I’m going to the shops”
2. “He explained me” → We say “He explained to me”
3. “I have 25 years” → We say “I’m 25” or “I’m 25 years old”
4. “Can you repeat again?” → Just “Can you repeat that?”
5. “I’m agree” → “I agree”
6. “On this moment” → “At the moment”
7. “She’s very friendly” (wrong tone) → We often say “She’s really lovely”
Which one do you make most often? Reply with the number.

ANSWER UPDATE
This can be tricky because many learners instinctively choose 'against' (because it feels logical), But English doesn’t follow logic here - it follows patterns.
The verb “object” is always followed by “to”:
- object to something
- object to doing something
🇬🇧 London English Lab Insight
This is part of a powerful pattern as some verbs come with a fixed preposition and you just have to learn the pair.
Examples: object to, depend on, believe in, focus on
Think of them as two-word verbs, not separate pieces.
Master these, and your English stops sounding “translated”… and starts sounding native.
