There are many London dances, but the most gruesome was surely the Tyburn Jig.

Tyburn was the site of public hangings & to do the Tyburn Jig was to dance at the end of a rope.

Battersea Bardot, a new musical about film star Carol White, is setting up home in the studio @NewWimbTheatre, a former ballroom.

Carol's parents were keen ballroom dancers back in the 1950s. I wonder if they ever danced here?

Just spent a wonderful evening talking about Carol White in Montagu Square - her London home at the end of the 60s and the location of Battersea Bardot - the musical.

It has also been home to Ted Hughes, Anthony Trollope, John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Ringo Starr and Jimmy Hendrix...

This picture shows Great Church Lane, Hammersmith, in the 1940s - the time and place of Carol's childhood, and the lost world that she remembers in my musical.
