בנוסף על אלימות מתנחלים יומיומית בכפרי מסאפר יטא שבדרום הר חברון, והריסת הבתים החוזרת ונשנית בידי המדינה, נשקפת כעת סכנת גירוש מיידית ל-14 קהילות מסאפר יטא, השוכנות באזור שישראל הכריזה עליו כ"שטח אש 918".

בחודש שעבר החליטו מוסדות התכנון הישראליים לדחות את כל הבקשות התכנוניות שהגישו פלסטינים תושבי הקהילות, בתואנה המופרכת של "צורך ביטחוני" לקיים אימונים צבאיים בשטח האש. זהו שימוש מעוות ומניפולטיבי במושג ״צורך בטחוני״ שאינו עומד בהגדרות המשפט הבינלאומי.

כעת נסללה הדרך להחרבת קהילות שלמות, בתים, בתי ספר ותשתיות, בתוך ימים או שבועות ספורים, ולמעשה, לגירוש התושבים מאדמותיהם ולהשתלטות ישראלית מלאה על השטח וסיפוחו.
