Subramaniam Chandrasekhar was

Well Chandrasekhar showed that above a certain mass (the Chandrasekhar limit), stars would collapse into either neutron stars or black holes.

And he won the Nobel Prize in Physics for the calculations he did when he was 19 and bored on a ship.
