Daenerys Was Never the Villain Until the Story Decided She Was

People say Daenerys never deserved the Iron Throne, but look at the rulers who came before her.

She freed slaves, built an army from almost nothing, inspired millions to follow her, and without her dragons and forces, the war against the Night King could have ended very differently. She fought on the front lines while Cersei stayed behind the safety of King’s Landing, refusing to help until it was too late. Daenerys lost Jorah, watched Missandei be executed, and sacrificed more than almost anyone else in the fight for the realm.

Cersei was given chances to surrender but chose pride instead. By the time Daenerys attacked King’s Landing, she believed fear was the only language Westeros understood after generations of cruel, selfish rulers.

Then everything ended in a single moment. Not because someone stronger defeated her, but because the man she loved killed her. Jon Snow, persuaded by Tyrion, chose to stop her before she ever got the chance to rule.

Whether you agree with Daenerys or not, it’s hard to ignore this: she spent years breaking chains, survived impossible odds, and gave everything for a throne she held for only a few hours. That’s one of the most tragic stories in Game of Thrones.

“I Will Always Love You” is Whitney Houston’s 1992 recording for the soundtrack of The Bodyguard. Originally written and recorded by Dolly Parton in 1973 as a heartfelt farewell to her mentor Porter Wagoner, Houston transformed the gentle country ballad into one of the biggest hits in music history. Whitney originally intended to record Jimmy Ruffin’s "What Becomes of the Brokenhearted" for the film's climax, but switched to Parton's song after co-star Kevin Costner suggested it, having been inspired by Linda Ronstadt's 1975 cover. Dolly Parton later recalled that when she first heard Whitney's version on the car radio, she was so overwhelmed by the vocal performance that she had to pull over. Decades later it remains Whitney Houston's signature song and one of the most celebrated vocal performances ever recorded.
