I'm honestly just pleading with people to consider in the abstract what a good process would look like and then implement that. Don't just support whatever the loudest person that shares your politics is saying.
one of the things I hope the young online left continues to abandon is the idea that consuming content from people that you disagree with is inherently bad.
if none of us read and analyze their books, then you will never know why you dislike it in the first place. you will never be able to fight against it if no one knows what’s actually in it. there’s always a balance, and no one should be forced to read it, but trying to morally punish people for being educated on all sides of topics they care about is bad.

Progressives have put immense effort into shrinking the Democratic Party tent, reducing the spectrum of Respectable Opinion.
That approach sort of worked in the professional class, but it failed wholly in electoral politics.
