@Strxtego@ScorpioQueMann@CarmeloJreal So as I ask anyone who says this go through every selection and tell me the 1 to 2 guys not on that should have gone over him who mind you coaches selected not media or players. If your argument is maybe not 12 but 9 more plausible but that applies to multiple guys not just Kobe
@Strxtego@ScorpioQueMann@CarmeloJreal Bron is a great stat stuffer (not a bad comment on him by the way he’s a great player) but the stat will favor him he’s accumulated stats. Kawhis role changed from primary def to 2 way player. I ask again show me the on ball defense this measures or ball denial or communication
@michaeljohnvis@startingvbasket@CarmeloJreal Stat stuffing also greatly helped so rebounds and blocks and steals and assists etc. ball denial and on ball great defense, altering/bothering shots outside a block and defensive communication wouldn’t be measured in this stat you know actual important parts of defense.
@Strxtego@ScorpioQueMann@CarmeloJreal Actually look up what goes into these stats instead of blindly using them without proper context or understanding. They are highly flawed for a reason. Especially in measuring straight up individuals defense.
@Strxtego@ScorpioQueMann@CarmeloJreal Defensive stats suck period because most are either lineup based or box score stuffing. They don’t measure individual defense well or things like positioning, screen nav, on ball, communication, playing within structure of team scheme aka guiding someone into rim protector etc.
@michaeljohnvis@startingvbasket@CarmeloJreal Guess you didn’t read it favors high assists in big men hence the jokic ratings and in general it’s flawed because it’s a fill box score stat and favors big men vs perimeter defenders and doesn’t factor various elements of defense. That stat just plainly is bad to use for defense
@NYSoul2x@LakerCentral365 Yeah but they are hard capped at first apron this year so the projections include Reaves salary at $41M I believe…so if next season that’s $44M it would only be a $3M increase then subtract expirings and goal would probably be get to enough room to use that Mid level exception
@NYSoul2x@LakerCentral365 If they are under first apron next offseason they can use full mid level exception which will be like $15.5-16M basically another tool to add good player. So every way they can save on some salaries next year goes far in accomplishing that.
@DOC323123 Probably by next offseason. Just cause they get another swap and second also will most likely have $15M exception and $6M bi annual exception. That’s two more players they can add + another year of Carr if he has a solid rookie campaign.
@E5G4C4DE1R4S@Purpl3andGold People have been ripping Pelinka for ages for poor asset management…he goes and flips Ayton a piece who is expiring and most likely isn’t a long term piece for 2 seconds and another expiring and everyone is complaining about why they did it lol.
@dojaa_ggs@Al8siv@LegendOfWinning If he keeps the two best guys healthy that is a good reason to have him along with bench scoring and an extra ball handler especially with LeBron gone. Team for sure isn’t complete but I do think Sexton serves an important role.
@dojaa_ggs@Al8siv@LegendOfWinning Need to get your two guards into the playoffs Healthy aka through the regular season…Sexton is there to help reduce their minutes as both played really high minutes last season. Think that serves as an important function to team.
@LetMeWorkPlz@QeisyyPooh Idk what this has to do with this convo this is off topic lmao. Also speak to those who deny that not me yes Kobe asked to be traded back in 2007 that’s not false lol just like PG did in 2017 and asked for it to be to Lakers.
