Congratulations to the Longfellow district track team, who ran this Saturday at Robinson Secondary School. A special congratulations goes out to Simone Beyers who placed third overall in the 800 m, and Joseph Cantanucci who placed third in long jump. Way to go, Lancers!
This weekend, Mrs. Barry and Mrs. Dawson took 100 theater and chorus students overnight to New York City! They learned a musical routine, working with company members from Broadway's Hadestown, visited the Museum of Broadway, and saw Maybe Happy Ending and Hadestown!
April is the Month of the Military Child. Longfellow will celebrate Purple Up! Day on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Purple Up! Day is a special day for communities to come together and wear purple as a visible gesture of support for our military-connected youth and their families.
Congratulations to our LMS debate team! In last weekend’s tournament against 96 middle school teams and 192 competitors, Erya Chai and Aliya Sahu came in 1st PLACE, and Alex Wu and Caleb Zhao came in 8th PLACE. Aliya Sahu also came in 2nd PLACE for best middle school speaker!
Congratulations to Maddy Hoffman, who was named McLean Pyramid’s Outstanding New Teacher. Maddy has been an incredible addition to our 8th grade Civics team – she constantly creates engaging lessons and collaborates with her teammates to create engaging and fun lessons.

We had a successful first quarter after school event with crafts and bingo! Families could also purchase pizza and snacks, supporting the after school program.
Today we launched our new Enrichment Friday program during Learning Seminar. Students were able to sign up for an activity they enjoyed where they can build community with students and staff. From silent reading to karaoke, there's truly something for everyone.
