@YazzieSays@netflix@joeytainment I'm watching this with my kids right now and impressed them by telling him your character in the show is a real scientist! Blew his mind! We love Spirit Rangers!
It's the end of the school year so student engagement is flagging. Thanks @nytimes' Learning Network for helping me connect students with @clairemoses article The Spread of Book Banning https://t.co/0Q42CmKzJk & the prompt: Who should decide what young people read?
The 8th Annual Battle of the Books District Competition was last night and the winners were
*drum roll please*
Our Longfellow 6th & 8th grade teams! GO TIGERS! I'm so proud of all our students who participated and the parents & families who stayed to cheer us on!
I am tardy to the party, but I'm excited to try this approach with students! Cheeseburger, hockey game help students understand information ecosystem https://t.co/aePDIW5roL
Thank you to
@teachingchange & @sojustbooks
for the @BLMAtSchool booklists! I created this resource for our students https://t.co/PssDhv7QfQ that highlights the Longfellow Library books that uplift the 13 Principles of BLM
@Brittney_HSmith Thank you! It enabled the students to collaborate together. The scenarios were engaging on their own, but in this format, students could talk it out.
Used @canva to create 3-2-1 exit tickets to help 8th graders process their learning from @NewsLitProject's lesson on "Understanding Bias"
Student questions: Can there be a split of bias and fact and it be okay? How has big story bias ever ended in a dangerous situation?
Taught @NewsLitProject's Checkology lessons on Understanding Bias with 8th graders today! Transformed their assignment on identifying types of bias into a collaborative sorting activity and it went well! Crafting lessons that foster productive group work can be challenging.
Thank you for this slick update to the #gameofquotes slideshow! Here are a few hilarious quotes from today's game with 8th graders. Quotes taken from books by @wimpykid, @geneluenyang & @doctorow.
In my district, we have an annual Battle of the Books District competition. Long Way Down by @JasonReynolds83 is on our reading list & tomorrow our students will watch his 2018 interview with @Trevornoah https://t.co/Ld5m45dcSq! If you haven't seen it you should!
These are fun. A mere 24 books for 2022. But this was the year I discovered a new favorite book of all time. Check out #MyYearInBooks@goodreads to discover the 24 books I read in 2022! https://t.co/M1AKpoiddX
