This is the official account for The Club at Longview Golf Course Maintenance Team and a resource to update membership on golf course conditions and activities.
We are currently under a frost delay. Practice tee will open at 10am and golf course will open at 11am. Please check with golf shop for updates on Saturday start times.
Our staff completed the venting-aeration on the front nine yesterday and are working through the rain on the back nine today. We are on schedule to have the course open for play tomorrow. @LongviewGCM it may be a little wet but we are enjoying these temps compared to last week 👍🏻
Preparing the bent grass greens @LongviewGCM for the heat this week. Height of cut on greens mowers has been raised and we are alternating mowing with rolling the rest of the week. Be prepared for slower greens speeds Hole location 5 and carts scatter.
Good timing for rain as we work towards recovery from greens venting the past two days. Looks like most of the rain will be moving on soon and our totals are currently 1.3”. Soil spray application being made today to protect the grass roots from wet conditions. @LongviewGCM
We have had a busy start to the week and our staff is doing an awesome job. Edging of bunkers and growth regulators being applied to all short cut. @LongviewGCM
Perfect weather for late June, 🕳 location 4, carts scatter with exception of holes 13,16. Greens are getting a double cut this morning and light vertical grooming. This afternoon the greens will get a light sand top dressing and calcium application. Enjoy ⛳️ 🏌️♂️! @LongviewGCM
Due to fertilizer and herbicide application made yesterday to the golf course all golf carts will be restricted to the paths. Staff will be watering in these materials today due to pump station problems over night. Sorry for the inconvenience.
All 18 holes are open to play today. Our staff did an outstanding job working long hours with challenging weather. The course is a little rough around the edges following aeration but we will get things back to normal conditions over the next week. @LongviewGCM Enjoy ⛳️ 🏌️♂️
Things were going well prior to the rain yesterday. The golf course received just shy of 3” of rain from the storm yesterday. We have shut down the fairway aerating plans for today. Staff will be focusing on repairing/clean up from the storms. @LongviewGCM
Now that we have converted all of our collars from bent grass to Bermuda it will be important that we keep these two grasses separated. One of the tools we will use to achieve this is the stick edger. Staff is out today beginning this work. @LongviewGCM
Good morning 🌞 hole location 2 carts scatter. Pump station went down last night 🤦🏼♂️so it will be a busy day getting caught on irrigation. #mycarolinasmorning@LongviewGCM
Busy maintenance morning today. Double cut greens, soil spray, followed by light sand top dressing. Working to keep them firm, smooth and quick the last couple weeks of May before greens aeration. Hole location 2 carts scatter. Enjoy🏌️
It has been 1 month since our collar renovation work began on hole #5 and today we gave the grass its first haircut. Things are progressing nicely with the collars now that we are experiencing warmer temps. Top dressing applications will be made soon to smooth out the surface.
How it started and how it’s going... our project to correct an erosion problem in a high traffic area on hole #7 has been completed. This area will be roped off to all traffic until the new sod has time to establish. Please use land bridge to access the green. @LongviewGCM
