🇺🇸🇨🇦Canada just dumped U.S. cars. Americans got the bill.
Yes, the tariffs Trump imposed on the auto sector are taking a toll.
But the biggest victim of this policy is found south of the 49th parallel, according to a report by Fortune magazine.
Their main customer, Canada, is gradually turning away from them.
From 2021 to 2025, about 40% of new vehicles sold in Canada were U.S.-built.
When Trump launched his trade war in 2025, that share dropped to 35.4% during the first six months.
And this year, during that same period, that share fell to 28.4%!
A loss of some 12 percentage points in market share in just a year and a half...
And the Canadian market is so vital to the United States that it outweighs the next ten largest markets combined.
This decrease in sales, compounded by the tariffs, inevitably impacts vehicle prices and jobs.
A vehicle hit from all sides by tariffs on its many Canadian-made components can cost an average of $6,000 more.
With lower sales come lower production levels and a reduced need for staff.
Consequently, since Trump took office, 75,000 manufacturing jobs have vanished, including 25,900 in the automotive sector.
Impact on Trump
Is Trump aware of these figures? Is he being shielded from them? And even if he did know, would he take them into account?
One can assume not, given that since day one of his presidency, almost every decision he has made has disadvantaged the average American—and undermined the United States' standing as a global power. One might quibble over his motives for acting against his country's interests, but not over the negative impact of his choices.
And yet, I ask you: are Americans aware that their president is working against them?

"I fooled you into voting for Brexit, I fooled you into voting me into Parliament, I fooled you into thinking I was a patriot and now I'm fooling you into thinking I'm not a corrupt traitor. You people are gullible fools - send me more money"
This is truly a great man. He has invested more in Ukraine than 185 countries combined.
Meet Howard Buffett, Warren Buffett’s middle son. He is 71 years old. He dropped out of college three times. He drinks Dr Pepper and looks for a McDonald’s wherever he travels.
Since the beginning of the war, his foundation has become the largest private donor to Ukraine: $1.4 billion.
Over four years, he has personally visited Ukraine 27 times.
In April 2022, he saw burned-out agricultural machinery and called the president of John Deere:
“How many combines are available in Europe?”
“Fifteen. All of them were supposed to go to Russia.”
“I’ll take them all.”
Then came all the available New Holland equipment in Europe. Altogether, more than 100 tractors and combines were provided to Ukrainian farmers.
He even tested demining equipment himself - on his own farm in Illinois, detonating explosives beneath rollers. When a Ukrainian deputy minister expressed doubts, Buffett told him:
“Stop counting my tractors. If necessary, I’ll blow up a thousand of them.”
Andriy Stavnitser initially asked him for $1 million for Superhumans. Buffett asked how much was needed to build the entire center.
“$14 million.”
“Okay. And what do you expect in return?”
“Nothing. Build it.”
Today, his support for Superhumans has reached $77 million, and the center has treated more than 1,700 patients.
But his largest area of spending is neither agricultural machinery nor prosthetics.
It is food: 642 million meals.
And that is only part of it:
* 344,000 windows replaced after Russian attacks;
* 9 bridges, 4 power plants, 2,500 generators, and 18 DNA laboratories;
* Much of Bucha rebuilt with his funding.
“I already have more friends in Ukraine than I do at home,” he says.
He celebrates birthdays in Ukraine, comes for Christmas, and even has a Ukrainian godson.
Friends, this is truly a great man - someone who understands that he cannot take all his money with him when he leaves this world.
I simply want to thank him and wish him well.
Whatever else one may say, this is real help from a person who had no personal obligation to Ukraine.
He simply chose to help.

Farage's name appears about 40 times in the Epstein files. Mostly in emails between Epstein and Bannon discussing Farage in the context of Bannon's scheme to create a European fascist network.
At the end of the video of Farage fawning over Bannon, we see Farage thanking Bannon for his help in winning the Brexit referendum
@dailybritainonx Too little, too late. Rejoining at least the Single Market has to happen in THIS legislature period. No ref needed as it was only a political decision to take us out.
🚨 Mark Carney hits the highest approval rating recorded for a Canadian prime minister as his pivot towards Europe accelerates.
🔥 Remember in 2016 as Governor of the Bank of England, Carney warned truthfully about Brexit’s risks to sterling, investment, growth and financial stability.
Brexiteers did not answer his evidence. They attacked his independence, accused him of interfering and dismissed his warnings as Project Fear.
Boris Johnson claimed Carney was undermining confidence in Britain.
A decade later, the economic damage Carney warned about is embedded in Britain, while Canada is gaining influence, alliances and strategic options under his leadership.
Carney completed his term at the Bank of England and returned home. Canada subsequently placed the judgement Britain had vilified at the centre of its government.
Now he is standing up to Trump, reducing Canadian dependence on the US, joining European defence procurement and pursuing a profound new alliance with the EU.
Carney was right about Brexit.
He is right about Trump.
And @andyburnham should learn from him now:
Tell the truth.
Remove the Brexit red lines.
Rebuild Britain’s European relationship.
Choose sovereign cooperation over frightened dependency.
One of the lowest points in American history.
Two grifting scumbags, representing financial interests of the US President, groveling before a mass murdering dictator that's currently helping Iran murder Americans and waging war against every American ally that's fought alongside the US, all for promises of lucrative business deals that Putin will never give them.
James Orr has been forced to step down from Reform UK for his unethical behaviour. Fortunately he still has his other job, which is teaching ethics at Cambridge University.
Trump has offered yet another "expert opinion" on the Ukraine war—quote: "The level of hostility between Putin and Zelenskyy is preventing an end to this war."
The old geezer continues to view this war at a level within his mental grasp—one requiring hardly any brainpower—as a conflict between two individuals, where one "attacked the other and the other refuses to make peace" 🙈
At least two nuclear powers are now governed by people with the intellect of a slice of bread.

True cost of Brexit on UK trade revealed as calls to rejoin single market grow
Exclusive: The damning findings comes as a major new survey shows that 98.2 per cent of businesses want access to the EU single market restored

The biggest Brexit myth is that freedom of movement only benefited young backpackers.
It benefited grandparents with family abroad.
Small businesses.
Musicians.
Retirees.
Students.
Consultants.
Lorry drivers.
Researchers.
The moment you understand that, the whole Brexit debate looks different.
@RejoinP Had the UK not have left the European Union we would have had the security of trading with our EU neighbours. For the sake of our economy we need another referendum on European membership. The extreme right wing Brexiteers can't keep saying that we had our vote.
Amazing how the British MSM has suddenly got quite good at explaining tariffs when they were so bad at explaining the effect of leaving the European Single Market.
