@MartinSLewis It’s ludicrous to pursue Net Zero when the cost to the country is so high. High energy prices affect everything and everyone.
Meanwhile Ukraine , Russia and the Middle East burn with the wartime carbon footprint the size of a small planet.
Scoring 4.62/5 with owners, the CUPRA Born is a proper driver's EV—but check the model year before buying. Early 77kWh cars only have 4 seats and unlit sliders, while late-2024+ models fix the tech, add backlit controls and hold ~70kW to 80%:

@vinceW31@eV_Newt@VW@SKODAUK Seems not. Major fail.
Ancient technology e-Golf has no such issues. One of the two in our family still has its original early 2019 12v.
The decline of VW group;
2019 e-Golf 70k miles, still on original 12v battery.
2025 Enyaq, can’t charge its 78kwh traction battery because it has to preserve its 12v.
Make it make sense @VW@SKODAUK
In a supermarket this morning.
Toilet roll shelves looking depleted, almost everyone in the long queues to pay was buying bottled water.
Absolutely packed.
@wesstreeting has a lot to answer for, scaremongering like this.

The Land Registry appears to be under resourced.
6 months after moving into our new home our names are still not registered.
Our previous home was registered to the new owners just last week.
This is something we pay for.
Is this normal?
If so, why?
@MartinSLewis Number 2.
Only approve any new energy projects if they meet this criteria.
I invested £1000 several years ago in a cooperative solar project.
I have seen a penny return and will likely lose the lot because generation was curtailed all summer due to grid infrastructure problems.
It’s not going to be freezing cold in early November but Europe away from far north and southwest actually going forward looks to see stubborn colder than average anomalies.
A large departure from much of year. Slack areas of high pressure = low wind. Our renewable heavy electrical grind will feel the pinch.
🇨🇳 🇩🇪 🚗 VW finally chasing proper software and a usable UI? About time.
💻Volkswagen is reportedly looking at using software architecture co-developed with Chinese EV maker XPeng across a big chunk of its future VW, Škoda and Cupra line-up.
And frankly, it could do with it. the infotainment and user experience in some VW Group cars have lagged a long way behind the best of the competition.
If Chinese-developed software helps put that right, why wouldn’t they use it?
The EV race isn’t just about batteries, range and charging speeds. The software matters too. ⚡
