NEW: As uncertainty swelled around the long-awaited opening of the Gordie Howe bridge, representatives from the Ambassador Bridge were “aggressively” pursuing trucking companies in an apparent bid to retain their business, according to an industry rep

Police say there have been 64 incidents involving vehicles driving the wrong way on Highway 401 near the entrance to the Gordie Howe bridge since it opened.
The OPP is urging drivers not to panic if they accidentally end up at the bridge's entry.

Stellantis says tariffs and consumer demand in North America are driving weeks-long layoffs at the company's plant here in Windsor.
News of more layoffs comes as contract talks remain stalled.

Mark Carney keeps telling us things that we later learned are false about the Gordie Howe Bridge and Canada-U.S. trade.
He said Canada would get all the toll revenues from the bridge until our construction debts were repaid. False.
Then he said the bridge opening was delayed because of technical aspects. A federal department now says it was a dispute about governance.
Why not tell the truth?
NEW:
The Canadian government has disclosed a handful of fresh details around the delays in opening the Gordie Howe International Bridge, including the Trump admin's request to delay the opening in June.

But the MP whose questions triggered the disclosure says he’s “not satisfied at all” with the responses, accusing Ottawa of still hiding key information about the $6.4-billion bridge that became mired in cross-border political controversy this year.

NEW: Unifor National President says Stellantis *did* present the union with vehicle models to replace the Jeep Compass at the Brampton plant.
Those models would have been set aside for the idled plant for 2028/2029, Payne said at a press conference not long ago.
She declined to say what the models were. I asked what changed between then and now with Stellantis saying it's considering selling the plant — she said to ask the company. (Which I definitely will.)
@cselley Apparently it was the call with Carney. But again, we were first in line. Why skip us, and not whoever's last in line?
(not to mention they gave one of the other reporters an extra question)
CBC Windsor was first in line to ask a question at Pierre Poilievre's press conference here yesterday.
Staff skipped our reporter, let the other reporters ask questions, then ended the presser and walked away.
Starts at around 13:23 here:

Poilievre's office claimed to CTV Windsor that they prioritize local media at these types of events. But we ARE local media, which Poilievre's office (and CTV Windsor) know.
They also claimed there was a time crunch. But then why skip the person who's first in line?
