and it's not what anyone hoped for.
here's what he said:

> all US military bases in gulf countries must shut down. no compromise. no negotiation.
> strait of hormuz stays closed. will be used as leverage. checkpoints on who gets oil and who doesn't.
> attacks on US bases in the region will continue. said he has no quarrel with the "neighborhood" but american bases on their soil are fair game.
> revenge for the 168 killed in the minab school attack. 110 of them were schoolgirls. he called it the "first priority."
> conflict will expand. yemen "will also contribute." iraq proxies "eager to support the revolution."

so basically the opposite of a ceasefire signal.

the longer this runs:

→ oil stays elevated ($120+ and climbing)
→ strait of hormuz stays disrupted
→ US military spending goes vertical
→ global supply chains choke
→ inflation reignites everywhere

meanwhile trump says "the war will end anytime i want" and his energy secretary calls it a "short-term disruption"

but oil is pricing in a long war. this isn't ending soon.
