@Loq1b1 he’s an idealist and a romantic at heart who has SO much love and care to give, who WANTS to give it and keep giving, and i’m so so happy he found an equal match in hcg who’d give him back the same infinite amount of unconditional loyalty, trust, and love.
@Loq1b1 to control what pieces of himself he gives others in a healthier, more controlled, more mature manner that reflects experience and better understanding of the duality of human nature, and to not expect others to share his own definition of friendships or relationships in general.
@Loq1b1 casual instead of formal or out of some sense of guilt or obligation and without excuses of the divide in social hierarchy or whatnot. it’s what xl has always wanted too. it’s just that now, xl has learned to not hand his vulnerable, raw heart to people unless they want him too,
@Loq1b1 they feel comfortable being themselves and speaking their mind. mq’s sarcasm now holds more of a friendly banter tone than the sharp, scathing, ridiculing tone he gave xl at the beginning of the novels. fx learned to accept mq better as well. it’s overall much healthier and
@Loq1b1 opponent made mq finally come around.
i wholly believe that their post-canon friendship is much better than whatever they had at any point of time prior to it. both of them now understand the other’s true nature and have learned to accept it (even tho it took mq 800 years to…).
@Loq1b1 and he knew he couldn’t have given xl the same grace if he were in his shoes, which is why he felt troubled, masking his reluctance and fear with being mean and doubling down on his misconceptions of him. but xl’s kindness and adherence to his personal principles regardless of
@Loq1b1 all he needed was to be more honest with himself and stop resisting the truth that he Knew but kept denying to save his own face. honestly, xl is open to friendships. he has a heart of gold and is infinitely more forgiving than any normal person would ever be. mq knew that too,
@Loq1b1 yeah, he looks down on those lesser than him even tho he was once in their place. in a way, he became what he hated when he gained status. he’s clever and intelligent, and yet can frequently come to the wrong conclusions due to being clouded by insecurities and ambition.
I’d like to apologize for my previous artwork.
I genuinely did not trace it. However, I did use the artwork as a reference because I really liked its atmosphere. I referenced the composition, the way the character was portrayed, and the brush style, which is why that piece
looks different from my previous works.
Even if I didn’t trace it directly, I should have credited the original artist out of respect. I fully acknowledge that this was my mistake, and I’ve deleted the post.
I’ll make sure something like this doesn’t happen again. I’m truly sorry
@so_fallaway I truly didn’t trace the artwork—I really didn’t. But regardless, I’ll delete that piece, and from now on I won’t use anyone else’s artwork as a reference. I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable. Please block me if Imade you uncomfortable
@so_fallaway because I wanted to capture a similar feel and atmosphere, which is probably why it looks more similar. I’ll be more mindful in the future. I’m sorry if it made you uncomfortable. I never intended to cause any offense.
@so_fallaway No, I don’t trace artwork. If you look at my other drawings, you’ll see there are no signs of tracing at all. I was definitely inspired by that piece, though. I didn’t trace it. I did switch to a different brush
What I like about Mu Qing and Xie Lian’s relationship after those 800 years is that the friendship Xie Lian once offered him is no longer something Mu Qing can take for granted. If he wants Xie Lian’s friendship now, he has to earn it himself.
He goes about it in such an awkward way, trying to earn Xie Lian’s friendship again. I especially found it funny that he practically camps out in the Communication Array all day, just waiting for a chance to talk to Xie Lian.
Personally, I find Feng Xin much more tragic than Mu Qing. In the end, Mu Qing gained everything—his family, status, wealth, a future, and even his friendship with Xie Lian. Feng Xin, on the other hand, feels everything in his life seemed to end in an unresolved, bittersweet way.
