Developers were able to put out incredible games that hold up to modern releases 20 years ago on the Wii/PS3/360. The Switch 2 is the only platform on the market right now that makes any sense and if the other players had some foresight they would already be trying to copycat it.

If we’re not heading for an industry crash we’re certainly heading for a recentering. General consumers are beyond the point of buying for specs and will not pay 1k+ for current gen hardware. The future is in either cloud compute or weaker hardware or a bit of both.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is, more than anything, about arrested development. This is why it’s the generational media for Gen X (its original post-bubble 90s audience) and now Gen Z.
