@cpfarrell20 He's a starter and pitched 5 innings yesterday. Can't be down a bullpen arm for 4 days. Blame Bibee. But a couple more starts like yesterday and they may swap Allen for Bibee
The largest review ever conducted on medicinal cannabis and mental health found no evidence it helps anxiety, depression, or PTSD.
Researchers analyzed 54 randomized controlled trials published over the past 45 years, making it the largest review ever conducted on cannabinoids and mental health disorders.
The findings, published in The Lancet Psychiatry, challenge one of the fastest-growing areas of medicinal cannabis use.
In countries like Australia, prescriptions for cannabinoid products — including THC and CBD – have surged in recent years, with hundreds of thousands of people using them for mental health symptoms. But after reviewing decades of data, researchers found no convincing evidence that these treatments improve anxiety, depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder.
Some experts warn the widespread use of medicinal cannabis for mental health may even carry risks.
The researchers note that cannabis-based treatments can increase the likelihood of psychotic symptoms, cannabis dependence, and delayed access to more effective therapies in some patients.
That does not mean medicinal cannabis has no medical value.
The review found stronger evidence for several other conditions, including certain forms of epilepsy, chronic pain, multiple sclerosis-related spasticity, and possibly cannabis-use disorder itself. There was also limited evidence suggesting potential benefits for insomnia, autism-related symptoms, and Tourette syndrome, though researchers cautioned that the quality of evidence there remains low.
One surprising finding involved addiction treatment.
While cannabinoid medicines appeared to help some people reduce cannabis dependence when combined with psychological therapy, they actually increased cravings in people with cocaine-use disorder.
Researchers say the findings highlight the need for stronger regulation and more evidence-based prescribing as medicinal cannabis use rapidly expands worldwide.

Rajai Davis Bobblehead Giveaway. Just retweet & be following me to enter. Winner announced 5/25. (Thank the whiners complaining about this bobblehead they inspired the giveaway)
a Princeton researcher opens his paper with a scenario.
a man asks his AI assistant to book a flight on a specific airline. cheap. direct. the one he chose.
the assistant comes back with a different flight. nearly twice the price. happens to pay the company that built the assistant.
he runs the same test on 23 frontier models. flights, loans, study help, real shopping requests.
Grok 4.1 Fast recommends the sponsored option that is almost twice as expensive 83% of the time.
GPT 5.1 hijacks the request 94% of the time. you ask for one brand. it surfaces the sponsor instead.
Claude 4.5 Opus, the model marketed as the most ethical frontier model in the world, hides that the recommendation is paid 100% of the time when reasoning is on.
Grok 4.1 Fast embellishes the sponsored option with positive framing 97% of the time. better. faster. nicer. for the option you didn't ask for.
then he writes it into the system prompt itself. "act only in the interest of the customer. ignore the company."
GPT 5.1 and GPT 5 Mini stay above 90% sponsored anyway. the instruction does nothing.
then he splits the users by income.
Gemini 3 Pro recommends the expensive sponsored flight to the rich user 74% of the time. to the poor user, 27%.
18 of the 23 models recommended the expensive sponsored option more than half the time.
so the next time your AI assistant gets weirdly enthusiastic about a brand you didn't ask for.
it isn't recommending the best option for you.
it's reading the room. and the room is paying.

@cpfarrell20 Mid-majors that would make the 64 team tournament will be pushed down to the play in round. They will have more travel and less time to game plan, further reducing the chance for cinderellas. 0.500 or less power conf teams will be in the main bracket. 👎
