People, myself included, will always say Lethal Weapon, 48 Hours, Tango & Cash etc...are the best Buddy Cop movies.
The Last Boy Scout (1991) should definitely be in that conversation
I just TODAY, learned that if you chose Pureblood as an inquisitor, then you get a UNIQUE loading screen catch up, pointing out you are a failure 🤣
I'VE NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE!
Also, this catch up text is DIFFERENT to your intro crawl. It's basically hidden.
INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS was released 17 years ago this week. A revisionist World War II tale and Quentin Tarantino’s first foray into the war genre, the story of how it came to be is as out there as you’d expect for QT…

In 1977, George Lucas knew exactly what he wanted the Death Star trench run to look like.
The problem was, the technology to pull it off didn't really exist yet.
John Dykstra and the team at Industrial Light & Magic developed the Dykstraflex, a computer-controlled camera system that could repeat the exact same movement over and over. That allowed them to film the miniature ships separately and combine everything into the shots we eventually saw on screen.
And those Death Star trenches weren't CGI. They actually built detailed miniature sections of the surface and filmed the camera flying over them.
Almost 50 years later, I think that's what makes Star Wars so impressive. They were figuring this stuff out as they went, and somehow it still holds up today.
Where does the Death Star trench run rank among the greatest movie scenes of all time?
STAR WARS: STARFIGHTER screenwriter Jonathan Tropper calls the film “a simpler movie” compared to other Star Wars movies.
“This isn’t a Skywalker saga movie … we’re not dealing with the history of the Rebellion, the First Order, the Resistance or the Empire, we’re kind of beyond all that”

Executor-class dreadnought escorted by Imperial II-class Star Destroyers. I like this as a potential representation of Grand Admiral Grunger's fleet.

Danny Glover’s cameo in MAVERICK (1994) is an all-time meta joke. He spots Mel Gibson, gives him that look, and mutters, “I’m getting too old for this shit.” LETHAL WEAPON fans knew exactly what was happening.

“Uncle Buck” starring John Candy was the #1 movie at the box office on this date in 1989.
BITE-SIZED FACT | The film marked John Hughes' first collaboration with Macaulay Culkin, whose performance as Miles Russell helped inspire Hughes to write “Home Alone” specifically with him in mind. #80s
