@ValenPaolini9@ichebykin@LundukeJournal Wait no longer! Cloudflare, AWS are both over half rust in the backend and together control most of the internet. There's also things like dropbox, Google has starting deploying rust on the backend as well. It's already foundational to the internet
@fluffyman9012 @OffKaiExpo They provide a means for legal action in the event this happens. Even if we went actually tyrannical and did full complete background Security checks on every staff member we would still get crazies the NDA is the legal means to protect the information
@DoomerGoober@OffKaiExpo All staff and volunteers are required to sign an NDA before they get onboarded. So it's not blind trust, there is actionable legal consequences for misuse of information
@mmstick@LennyLizowzskiy@BrodieOnLinux Perhaps i am misunderstanding but why would sticking with a bugged one that uses 10x ram be better than an extra binary using barely a few MB more disk space as a dependency?
I also don't really see portability being a problem, you can have a binary per system type
@pW2726539958982 @ChriClar92 @jasonrantz You say that as if McDonald's corporate isn't the one who sets those prices. They set franchise cost, they choose where you buy ingredients from, where you get equipment from, If it's not profitable without treating workers like shit, and paying nothing then don't open one.
@SheriefFYI@Speykious Well you said you switched to plasma because you wanted what the steam deck had. So why not take that to the next logical conclusion. The steam deck has Arch so why shouldn't you
@SheriefFYI@Speykious Instead of listing out all the genuine reasons I think it's better I will just leave you with this. It's what steamdeck is using (steamos is based on arch)
@AndrewJacksonZA@Kaplanyan@NickThibieroz@ctnzr What should i dig for? This still open ticket where an Intel employee (seemingly the one managing this repo) says yes it's still not open source? https://t.co/Nhbs4CV44f
@AnttiSavolaine @jyzg Things the codec wasn't doing like looking for duplicate data in a single frame for when the op/eds lined up. Which makes sense normally but i feel a codec could be made specifically for this use. Only downside is having to decode 8k at all times only to use 1080p of it lol
@AnttiSavolaine @jyzg Mild correction, true crop filter was used. Very annoying to get working in mpv but it worked.
But otherwise I am also very interested to hear what they think, as it was obvious during this experiment that there was a significant amount of potential savings from --
@BrianDude@jayess02@NYSDOT As a CDL driver yes I do know better. I know that the dash speedometer have a delay before they update (1-3sdepending on the model) . And that had he attempted to emergency slam break in that thing it would have led to nothing more than him slamming into the semi as he spun out
