Have you ever heard about Nigerian-born Toronto-based Kolade Doherty?
Billionaire Drug Lord, Crime Kingpin, hobgoblin of every Ontario cop and the toast of Nigerian Fuji musicians in the 80s and early 90s.

The combination of the NIMC Act 2026, the NIPOST Alphanumeric Digital Postcode, and the upcoming Biometric Census represents a foundational overhaul of Nigeria.
Together, these pillars merge identity data, precise location intelligence, and demographic tracking into a unified digital ecosystem.
- Mandatory NIN for all key services
- Biometric census with facial and voice recognition
- Geospatial Validation: physical address matching and population density checks.
- Registration of those without a permanent address.
- No ghost citizens no ghost villages. The government must know you exist wherever you are.
Geography doesn't lie. You can no longer invent a village of 100k people. They must link back to the NIN database, census and NIPOST postcodes for actual buildings.
Biometrics will override politics. If you like gto enerate fake census figures. You will provide biometrics that must be synced with NIN, and NIPOST geospatial information.
May PBAT succeed.
I have today signed the NIMC Act 2026 into law.
For nearly twenty years, Nigeria’s identity system operated under a law written for a different era. That era is over.
This new Act gives our nation a modern, secure and digital identity framework fit for the Nigeria we are building, a Nigeria on the path to becoming a one-trillion-dollar economy.
Earlier today, I joined the ARISE TV Morning Show to discuss two critical issues that affect every Lagosian: flooding and waste management.
One point I made very clear is that while we can significantly mitigate flooding, it would be unrealistic to promise its complete eradication. Lagos is a coastal city, and the combined impact of climate change, rising sea levels, rapid urbanisation, and decades of development on wetlands has made flooding an increasingly complex challenge. Our responsibility is to remain proactive by investing in drainage infrastructure, enforcing physical planning regulations, removing obstructions from drainage channels, and leveraging data and science to strengthen our flood management strategies.
I also addressed the recent waste collection challenges and offered my sincere apologies to Lagosians. Government must always acknowledge service gaps and remain accountable to the people. However, we are not standing still. We are transitioning from the traditional “collect and dump” approach to a more sustainable circular economy model, where waste is transformed into valuable resources through recycling, composting, and waste-to-energy initiatives. That transformation is already underway.
Governance is not about making unrealistic promises or offering easy answers. It is about making informed, evidence-based decisions that serve the long-term interests of our people.
I appreciate the @ARISEtv team for providing the platform to discuss what we are doing, the progress we have made, and the work that still lies ahead as we continue building a #CleanerLagos and a #GreaterLagos.
I got a text of ADC’s press release to President Tinubu, where they said they won't eat road alone. Beautiful, ADC has agreed that President Tinubu has done very well in road infrastructure. Let us start with that first. Without roads, you can't go to hospitals, schools, and farms.
Let me say to the ADC National Chairman. I don't know which of the factions, but I know David Mark is the chairman of one of the factions. He was Senate President for 8 years uninterrupted. The road from Agwanga-Makurdi was awarded when he was Senate President in the ruling government then. Poor people couldn't go back home to Makurdi, but Mark, as the then Senate President, was flying with helicopter to his village. But today, under this administration, we can now drive to Makurdi freely.

The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), through its Waste Investigation, Surveillance and Enforcement Team (Project WISE Central), has issued Intention to Seal notices to shopping malls, markets, and shops along the Ojuelegba, Popo, and Empire areas of Surulere for non-compliance with the State’s sanitation laws, particularly the absence of valid waste management arrangements.
The notices, served on June 25, 2026, warn affected businesses to immediately regularise their waste management practices or risk having their premises sealed. LAWMA reiterated that all businesses must fulfil their environmental obligations and settle outstanding waste bills, stressing that enforcement efforts will continue until full compliance is achieved.

“Very soon, I will show the world the records of how Peter Obi destroyed education in Anambra, and I think something is wrong with his head.” - Soludo knocks Obi over his Post election interview.
Proper waste disposal requires residents to securely bag their waste and deposit it only at approved collection points. This ensures seamless evacuation by Private Sector Participant (PSP) operators or LAWMA intervention trucks, promoting a cleaner and healthier environment for all.
In your Local Government, not even someone from another LGA in the same state can become chairman, so the question remains: why do we want to become governor in Lagos when we cannot tolerate such?
Good people of Lagos State,
This is a gentle reminder that the monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise will hold on Saturday, 27th June 2026, across the State.
Residents are encouraged to actively participate by cleaning their homes, surroundings, drainage channels, markets, business premises, and public spaces within their communities.
A cleaner and healthier Lagos is a collective responsibility. Proper waste disposal, regular environmental maintenance, and adherence to sanitation guidelines are essential to preventing flooding, reducing environmental hazards, and promoting public health.
The Lagos State Government urges all residents, community leaders, market associations, and business operators to support the exercise and contribute their quota towards building a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable Lagos.
Together, let’s keep Lagos clean, healthy, and livable for all.

When it comes to Lagos State, every tom, dick and harry have an opinion. Was it illegal when Gov. @alexottiofr removed contraventions in Abia State? Was it also illegal when Gov @CCSoludo also removed contraventions in Anambra?
Here in Lagos, every of our actions is backed by the law and we stand by it all. We remain committed to enforcing the laws without distraction, irrespective of whose ox is gored!
