@HB_Opinions@GoldClover320@Tanner_Slavin Noah (saving Hal | helping his team | giving John the ring)
The once faced with accountability the manhunter is forced to violence
With Zoe her violence is literally shown. (Which before was only a threat) With Noah the threat of violence is hangs and directly affects John’s
@HB_Opinions@GoldClover320@Tanner_Slavin No it’s mostly the same narratively.
A crime is committed (Zoe/Genocide | Noah/Breaking Sinestro out & a murder is committed)
The manhunter retreats to Rushville
The manhunter manipulates those around them through either saving life or sympathy ( Zoe/ saving Kerry / healing)
@HB_Opinions@GoldClover320@Tanner_Slavin Zoe’s failure to manipulate John LITERALLY puts her in his crosshairs immediately.
Whether or not he’s watching his back forever is not relevant. The excuse John gave to forgo accountably runs directly parallel to Zoe
@HB_Opinions@GoldClover320@Tanner_Slavin So because the manipulation isn’t the exact same… there is no manipulation. This is the level of thinking from the Lantern fan base
@WrongEren@GoingHomme@VashKohime Clearly Kerry is presented as sympathetic while Sinestro is presented as sinister. I don’t know how it’s possible to watch the show and come away with any other conclusion
@WrongEren@GoingHomme@VashKohime Ive never said the show should explicitly call anyone anything. But a way a show is shot, the way characters treat other characters, the music they use the lighting. they use are all things that you can infer how the character is meant to be presented.
@willbig_boss28@darkdefective You said that triggering his obsessikve behavior is bad and the Guardians fault. I’m saying that triggering that behavior isn’t bad if they had a reasonable reason. Everything presented in the show, shows this is reasonable. You’re just saying triggering it is bad
@darkdefective@willbig_boss28 Someone being a loose cannon on that thinks he’s above the rules is a perfectly fine justification and the way he behaves during Rushville proves it
@darkdefective@willbig_boss28 “Break down anyone enough” and it’s “This highly competitive job that you’ve been prkvledged with is no longer yours”
They didn’t do anything but that. That’s a reasonable reason to trigger and obsession? I reject this
@willbig_boss28@darkdefective Almost like you can make a simple judgement based on a pattern of behaviors that directly lead you to a predictable outcome you were trying to avoid
@willbig_boss28@darkdefective Oh so
You mean the same “disobeying of protocol” that led to the Rushville massacre? It’s almost as if his obsessions and the way he acts in the show are directly related to that and give the Guardians reasonable cause.
@willbig_boss28@darkdefective No… we don’t know what happens before the Rushville incident but through common sense and basic inference you can tell that Hal had an obsession with keeping the ring by any means.
It’s actually studious for YOU to believe that his obsessions started after Rushville
