Some kids are playing at marbles in a corner of a market town, their voices rising and falling in accordance of how the game progresses, until one of the voices yells out in dismay. A boy rushes to the little balls on the ground and picks one up, or rather, the two parts of it.

With no one turning up, the boy runs off cheerfully with his new treasure. The next day, that same boy is reunited with his friends at their game, laughing, boasting loudly how 'the God of Games' gave him his new marble and how it's gonna 'beat you all'.

The crimson Lord tilts his head. Judging by the man's confused demeanor, it seems a mortal has landed himself in his domain in the Ghost City.

Usually, Hua Cheng couldn't care less what befell on the individuals who were stupid enough to stumble through the veil. But today...

@s0ngzichen "I'm not joking." The city Lord smiles at him coolly, his one eye fixed on him as the crowd of bizarre creatures inches closer curiously, mumbling amongst themselves with increasing volume. This mortal was brave, he'd give him that. Maybe foolishly so.

With that, the ghost settles down next to Xie Lian and takes a deep breath in appreciation before turning back to the god, gazing fondly at him and the comb in his hand.

The weather is rather chilly for the season and accompanied by wind and bouts of rain — truly not favorable to venture outside at all.

Still, Hua Cheng watches a person struggle through with their hair and clothes dancing wildly in the wind.
