Great day of learning in Network I. We normed around evaluation & observation practices. @CrystalBraswe15 joined us to help us continue our work with self care and self awareness. Thank for helping us with our “mirror work” @LRSDSecondary@lrsd
Friday Footnote: Leaders should set the example for self-care. Good Leaders often prioritize others' needs over their own, so use this long weekend to relax, recharge, & encourage your team to follow suit to sustain high levels of productivity & work-life balance. @Nike

Part 3 - Calling in looks/sounds like reflection, making meaning together, creating opportunities to imagine different perspectives or possibilities. Calling in invites collaboration instead of conflict.
Monday Musings: In leadership, you will be faced with situations that require you to call out wrongs, inappropriate behavior, bias, and deficit thinking. I read an article recently about calling issues “out” while calling people “in.”
Part 2. Calling out looks/sounds like voicing when something is unacceptable, stopping a behavior before it causes further harm, or challenging deficit thinking. Calling “in”, however, is about the people in the interaction.
FRIDAY FOOTNOTE: In times of uncertainty, is when leadership is needed most. When things get rocky, leaders are put to the test. We may rise to the occasion or falter at times, but the key is to show up, be present, honest, transparent, & available-even we don't have the answers.
For the last two days I've been facilitating professional learning & we began a series of sessions on equitable & inclusive learning spaces. Three people told me how much I reminded them of my mom. If you have had the privilege to work with her, you know what high praise that is.
