Here is a photo of Suci, a Sumatran rhino, that was born and raised in the Cincinnati zoo. The lineage of the Sumatran Rhino can be traced back over 20 millions years, making it one of the oldest breeds of rhino. #6thextinction #ees028

Female Sumatran Rhino are known as induced ovulators; meaning they only release an egg with the presence of an eligible male counterpart. This poses a problem to Suci because the nearest male Sumatran is thousands of miles away. #ees028 #6thextiction
