🆘🆘 KAY, 3 YO, MALE – IN MANHATTAN ACC - came into the shelter as an owner surrender on 8/17/2025, with the surrender reason stated as person health - allergies. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿
➡️TBD 10/7/25
➡️ MEDICAL PRIORITY – NEEDS MORE CARE AND ATTENTION THAN THE SHELTER CAN PROVIDE.
➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST
➡️🆘🆘 4TH Chance on Emergency Placement List – BEYOND URGENT - NO ROOM IN SHELTER – WILL NOT BE GIVEN MUCH MORE TIME – VERY HIGH EU/SILENT KILL RISK – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱
➡️ 50 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT
➡️ KAY IS ON THE EPL FOR MEDICAL REASONS - Kay is a sweet young cat who is feline leukemia positive. He has developed a severe upper respiratory infection and is now not eating for us. Kay needs a more quiet environment with more individualized attention than we can provide in shelter. Kay continues to seek attention and enjoys having his face cleaned. NOT EATING IS A DEATH SENTENCE IN THE SHELTER. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
A volunteer writes: Kay and all of his housemates were brought to the Manhattan Care Center as the family's allergies took a turn for the worst. Kay is said to be a very friendly, affectionate, playful and talkative lap cat, very good with visitors and children. He would not be fond of other cats, though. Kay started as timid at the care center but he knows his friends and we always have a great time together. He used to be a bit handshy but not anymore and now enjoys all the petting that sends him head bunting my hand and purring. He absolutely loves to play with feather wands and catnip toys(see his video). Kay is FeLV+ which means that his defences against infections and other conditions are lower than a regular cat. The FeLV virus is only transmissible to other cats but not to other species. As a result, Kay (who anyway prefers to live as a solo cat) should be adopted as the only kitty in the house. FeLV+ cats are just as great pets as non FeLV+ ones. They all need care and love. If you have it in you to adopt such a cat, come to the Manhattan Care Center, meet Kay, ask our adoption counselors about his health condition and hopefully take him home as your new beloved for ever best friend. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻

CHLOE NEEDS A PLACEMENT BY TUESDAY OCTOBER 7, 2025 BY 12PM & MUST BE PULLED BY A NEW HOPE PARTNER RESCUE: Hello, my name is Chloe. #chloe: My animal id is #ID235515. I am a desexed female calico/white #cat at the #QueensACC. Age: 5! #CatsOfX#NYCACC#Donate#Rescue#Foster RT
🆘🆘 HONEY BEE (ID 236404), 8 YO, – IN ACC - came into the shelter as an agency on 9/10/2025. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿
➡️TBD 10/7/25
➡️ SENIOR ALERT
➡️ NEW HOPE RESCUE PARTNER ONLY
➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST
➡️ 🆘🆘 2ND Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY URGENT – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱
➡️ 26 DAYS IN SHELTER – TIME IS RUNNING OUT
➡️ HONEY BEE IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS -She is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. She has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
A volunteer writes: Welcoming me to her condo with some very heartfelt nuzzles, Honey Bee hopped onto her condo perch to review what just happened. Nuzzles, headbutts, chin rubs, those are completely on the up and up, but Honey Bee needed a moment to think about it. No problem. I sat down to wait for her inquiry results but before I could, Honey Bee hopped back down and returned to her nuzzles, seeming to apologize for all the moments that passed without one. Honey Bee's thoughtful approach to shelter life makes sense because she's been through some big changes recently and finding her footing is a work in progress. Thankfully Honey Bee loves our collection of toys and is always ready to have a little treat, but sometimes making new friends can be confusing. She'd emphatically nuzzle my hand and then hop up to her condo perch before coming down to do it all over again. Honey Bee doesn't love the Care Center, but wants you to know that she's trying her best to find you. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻

Poor Buzz #251644 has just 8 shares on his linked post. This wonderful 4 year old has notes like "friendly, walks well on a leash, knows sit, likes treats" - sadly he's getting little attention and is soon to be added to Apple Valley CA's euthanasia list. Please help us give him a much needed boost for a better chance of freedom: repost/share and pledge if you're able, email [email protected]. Thank you.
