Neurotypicals:
“I do a little bit every day.”
ADHDers:
I do absolutely nothing for 11 days, then complete everything in one terrifying 9-hour burst that scares the dog.
"Waiting Mode" with ADHD is the psychological paralyzed state where your brain refuses to start any task because an upcoming obligation acts as a massive mental boundary.
Dopamine is motivation liquid.
You tell brain "move", dopamine kick brain and brain move
But ADHD no have enough dopamine
Adhd ask brain to move. Dopamine too small to kick brain so no move
Brain lazy. Brain like to sleep instead
ADHD beg, cry, scream. Brain still no move
there’s a weird sense of grief with ADHD where you know you would have the capability to do and be all the things you want if you didn’t have this disorder but instead you feel metaphorically chained to the wall while your whole life passes you by
