Hey OC👋 did some digging with AI on this Garden Grove chemical situation and honestly nobody is talking about this enough especially on a holiday weekend
everyone keeps mentioning the 7,000 gallon “crisis tank” at GKN Aerospace but there’s ALSO a 15,000 gallon tank right next to it. that’s potentially 30k+ gallons total if things go wrong
and it’s Memorial Day. people are outside grilling. this chemical literally ignites from a single spark.
from what I found:
🔴 if you’re within 3 miles of Garden Grove/Western Ave — windows closed, no open flames
🟡 3-8 miles out — keep an eye out, if you smell something sweet go inside
🟢 10+ miles — you’re probably fine but stay updated
state of emergency already declared. 50k people evacuated. media is barely on it.
