@Matt_Moore16 @DaveyPitch @rioferdy5 I may be wrong! In most competitions you can appeal if the ref makes a bad call. FIFA may well, for reasons I don't understand, not allow that in the world cup. Either way, their decision lacks transparency and consistency.

FWIW, I think the red card was very harsh!

It's the saying it's a red card but giving a suspended sentence (1 match ban) that reeks of corruption.

If the referee made a mistake, it's fine to have the red card overturned on appeal. That's not uncommon.

What's unusual is FIFA saying the red card should stand but the punishment is suspended for 12 months. That wouldn't happen to any other team in this competition.

@AlexiLalas Presumably unnecessary breaks in play. Whether those breaks are used for advertising is kind of irrelevant. The breaks have never and will never be a necessity except for exceptional circumstances relating to player safety where fixtures are being played in extreme heat.

@CK14151617 @DPJHodges I get that. I think I'm just a bit tired of this England set up and style of play. Exciting in flashes but ultimately disappointing. I'd love to see one of our batsmen grind one out like Mitchell in NZs second innings (even with a bit of flare/risk from others)
