@O_Dougl4s Mushoku Tensei NOT because it's better than Frieren, but because it has enough plot-twists so that it makes sense to use "as the first time" trump card on it specifically. Re:Zero is the second candidate for the same reason, but I just came to like it less tbh.
@TheBaronEmerald I'd say AoT is the master of gaslighting. When I first watched the series I even dropped it on Season 2 because nothing made sense and I thought it was kind of stupid. Thanks God I watched it to the end later.
This is actually the most obvious foreshadowing in AOT:
The people within the Walls have never seen canned food, but Reiner and Ymir both know about it. Not only that, it was in a different language than that of Paradis. This shows that Reiner and Ymir aren't from within the Walls.
@peakmann1e You do understand that titans lose they appeared mass when they lose energy, right? The less they get to accumulate, the skinnier they look. It was explained right in the anime.
@peacecommander2 Why is no one yapping about Death Note though? Almost no one though of Light as a good guy, but back in the 2000s nobody gave a f**k, and it became classics.
@FeudalPrayer@Urban__Tree It's crazy that some men who adhere strongly to patriarchy whom I know tend to say that women are like children in a way. And that feminism is essentially women trying to play men's role. It kind of tracks, huh?
TEiS is, unlike OPM or Overlord (or even TenShura!), doesn't just show you an OP character. It asks the question: Why is he powerful? And trying to answer this question, the title delivers.
Besides, the amount of tropes and foreshadowing in it is crazy.
@d672a2991d1f43b@Olamilekan4275 Oh, that's not true. There is an idea about what he bases his power on (namely, playing his role), and there is a development of this idea. The drama of TEiS is not about whether the MC will die. It's about whether he will succeed in playing his role.
I sincerely hate some commonly loved characters in the anime. But I like the anime. After all, in real life, people are also far from ideal. This realism is exactly what makes this anime good.
@anime_daily Apothecary Diaries will age well. Frieren will just become classics. Other two are fleeting things. Not bad, but will be forgotten in 10 years, imo.
Hm, Project K, maybe? Sometimes the animation is super cool, but sometimes it really sucks. The anime is quite OK though.
Maybe some old series line Kino no Tabi or Mushishi, but they were never made for an outstanding animation in the first place.
