Getting ill while still relatively young teaches you your sheer biological contingency.
There is no you but for the physiological life processes "under you," working as they should.
And everything you think, feel & do arises like spirit from that biology like steam from water
When you spend a lot of time with people in the real world and people who run real real companies or do real jobs.
You see that Almost Everything people write on here is preposterous
π¨ BREAKING: LINUX IS NOW FACING TWO CRITICAL SECURITY VULNERABILITIES, AND THERE ARE NO OFFICIAL KERNEL FIXES YET.
Both rated 9.0/10 in severity.
One could allow hackers to take control of vulnerable servers WITHOUT EVEN LOGGING IN.
And the most alarming part? The flaws were made PUBLIC before patches were ready.
Here's what's happening:
β TWO CRITICAL RCE FLAWS: Both affect KSMBD, Linux's built-in SMB file server.
β NO PASSWORD REQUIRED: One vulnerability could allow unauthenticated attackers to execute malicious code on vulnerable servers.
β KERNEL-LEVEL ACCESS: Successful exploitation could potentially give attackers control within the Linux kernel itself.
β NO MAINLINE PATCH YET: Both vulnerabilities were publicly disclosed before official kernel fixes were available.
β DISCOVERED BY AI: Trend Micro's AI-powered security scanner identified the flaws.
β SERVERS AT RISK: Linux systems running the vulnerable KSMBD service need immediate attention, especially if port 445 is exposed.
First PHP. Then Node.js. Then GitLab. Then Python.
NOW LINUX.
And this time, the vulnerabilities are PUBLIC before the fixes are ready.
If you manage Linux servers, CHECK YOUR EXPOSURE NOW.
Example of my Hermes agent capturing and curating content I'm interested in.
I shared this quote tweeted tweet to my "Excerpt Anywhere" app. Gave my agent the instructions in the input box in it.
Second attachment: the result I found later in obsidian.
@batcountry1980 I am gonna watch it again though! Think there might be a lot of easter egg layers to the "stage play" parts knowing the other layers are there too.
@batcountry1980 Also the Jesse Plemons character and Tom Cruise's *actual* character we know almost nothing about. There's almost no reason to care about either.
@FordHeistCrew Up there as best film ever. It's almost infinitely rewatchable. And the last portion (after Merrin arrives in that house) has an otherworldly transcendant quality to it.
I'm either massively ignorant, or this PHP (and other hacks) thing is being heavily seized upon as another "oooh excited doomery thing related to AI that will *definitely* get engagement" thing...
@DawnGlen2 I do think it was very touching how she highlighted what she'd been through on the show. I think that was overall good "exposure" but I can see how the idea of "pushing through" can be a bad association with ME as an illness (I didn't think her primary illness *was* ME but Lyme)
