@RoyalMailHelp On 25.11.24 I posted an Advent Calendar to my child who is away at uni. I posted from a Post Office and paid app. £3.79 as directed by the cashier. My child received a fee to pay card with a £7 fee. Please explain why you have charged for insufficient postage??
Thank you so much @VervePoetryFest for another incredible array of readings today- @Nic_Sealey wowed again and I was especially transfixed by @marjorielotfi tonight...
@called_terry Thanks Terry- yes being ill can be so inconvenient and frustrating- such a shame you missed the line break session- it was very good. I do hope to go to Verve next year instead- I very much doubt going as anything other than a punter though!
@Nic_Sealey @VervePoetryFest @stubartholomew@gosspoems@alice_hiller@Jo_Bell @lukewrightpoet I had to go and re-read your 'Candlelabra with heads' and 'In defense of candlelabra with heads' @Nic_Sealey incredible poems both. I'm really looking forward to your reading today too.
so gutted to miss @VervePoetryFest due to illness but hugely grateful to @stubartholomew for the livestream. Groundbreaking work by Holly Pester & Hannah Silva, v. powerful performances by @gosspoems@alice_hiller@Nic_Sealey with @Jo_Bell & @lukewrightpoet had me in bits. Bravo
I called this “algo” but it isn’t just self-censorship people are forced to in order to not be shadow-banned, it’s also replicated in mainstream media’s editorial choices, which deliberately obfuscate the empire’s extreme violences. Every day they murder language.
Great night of fierce poetry & prose launching Fearsome Females edited by @AgnesMeadows1 last night with feisty performances from Agnes, @joolzess, @RachealJoseph12, Sue Johns, JC May, @ShansonLinda & @Lottisometimes. I have some copies for £7 if anyone wants one- let me know...
Do join us on 29.11.23 7pm @ The Sun Pub, 21 Drury Lane at the launch of Fearsome Females- a new anthology about some trailblazing women. Expect warrior queens, pirates, pharoahs, the first black transgender anti slaver & others from Boudica to Sarah Baartman to Joan of Arc. Free
Flying visit to Sheffield last night to see my eldest & attend the exhibition launch of a City of Rivers at Weston Park Museum @SheffMuseums which includes one of my poems. Great exhibition- small but encompassing multitudes!
What do a female pharaoh, female pirate, female saint all have in common? Their male counterparts tried to erase then from history... and they all appear in FEARSOME FEMALES the new collection from Morgan's Eye press. Join us for the launch...
