Ten years ago today, Louisville lost a legend, a voice for courage and conviction, Muhammad Ali.
He used his voice to challenge injustice, uplift others, and bring people together.
Today, we honor The Greatest by continuing to live out the values he championed every day.
Louisville will always be proud to call Muhammad Ali our own.
With several permits out for public notice, it's important to know the different types of permits we have here at APCD.

Work began around 7 p.m. in advance of the planned temporary closure of a five-mile section of I-65 as part of the I-65 Central Corridor project. Contract crews will complete final striping and staging in advance of the closure between the I-65/I-264 interchange and downtown Louisville.
A rolling road closure will begin around 12:01 a.m. on Monday, June 1 to shift traffic to the signed detour. Crews will close northbound and southbound I-65 between the I-65/I-264 interchange and downtown Louisville. Airport access will remain open throughout the process and during the interstate closure.
What to Expect This Summer
Five miles of I-65 will close between the Watterson Expressway (I-264) and downtown Louisville (Jefferson Street) early on Monday, June 1. I-65 is expected to reopen to two lanes of traffic on Saturday, Aug. 1.
A two-mile section of southbound I-65 between University Boulevard and the Watterson Expressway (I-264) is expected to reopen to two lanes of traffic by Wednesday, July 1.
Ramp and Local Street Closures
The Jefferson Street exit (136C) remains open throughout the closure and provides access to downtown Louisville for drivers on southbound I-65.
The Bank Street on-ramp to westbound I-264/I-64 at 37th Street will also be closed June 1 – July 31. A signed detour will take drivers to 35th Street to 34th Street to Vermont Avenue to westbound I-264 at 32nd Street. The temporary closure is to prevent unsafe weaving from merging drivers.
Additional information is available on ramp closures and local street closures anticipated throughout the rest of the year.
